Summary:

City times

Notes:

I hope you guys don’t mind how I wrote this chapter, it’s a little different from how I usually write, and I likely won’t use it again. Anyways, as always, hope you enjoy!

Chapter Text

Sunny grabbed her keys and wallet, and almost forgot to pull down her eyepatch as she made her way to the door. She also grabbed a cap, and put her hair in probably the worst knot known to man. She then pulled the cap down onto her head, hiding the horrible condition of her hair. Ok, let’s hope that stays!

Basil was waiting by the door. He seemed to be quite excited. Sunny opened the door for Basil, and the blonde walked out of the building, waiting for her. She fumbled with the keys for a second, before locking the door with a click. Ok! Exploring time!

“So where do you wanna go?” Sunny asked the flower boy. “Ohh, I don’t know, let’s just do some wandering for a bit!” Excitedly replied the boy.

And they did just that. They made their way down city streets, looking around for good spots to hang out, as well as a good place to get clothes. By the time they had gotten done shopping for new clothes, which was a pain, it was nearly two in the afternoon, and they were both starving.

“Sooo, did you see any good looking places to get food?” Basil asked, his stomach growling so loudly that Sunny could hear it from where he was standing. She racked her brain for any good looking places, and she remembered a place.

She nodded, and grabbed Basil's hand, pulling the boy over to the location of her desire quickly. It felt nice. She could swear that the boy was blushing at the physical contact, but she didn’t pay much mind to it, as well as her now rosy red cheeks.

She pushed open the pink door of the bakery, the aroma of sweets blasting her nose. Basil seemed happy with where she brought them, and rushed over to see what the options were.

A few minutes later, the two walked out with a box of donuts, and two sugar cookies, one with a sun on it, the other with a sunflower made out of sweet frosting. They both wore grins as they looked at their treasure trove, and Sunny guided Basil to a park they had seen on their way to get new clothes for her.

They walked through the park, a sanctuary of nature in the concrete jungle. They sat down at a park bench, and watched the world go by as they devoured their prizes. She might regret eating so many sweets soon, but for now, she chose to live in the present!

They made their way back to Sunny’s apartment, and instead of going inside, they chose to climb up the ladder, and watch the sunset. As Sunny and Basil climbed the tall ladder, orange and red light leaked through the building. Then finally made their way up, and were greeted with a beautiful sight. The red-orange of the sun bleached the clouds a deep pink, contrasting with the dark blue sky.

The two friends sat down, and simply watched the sunset. Sunny leaned on the blonde's shoulder. It felt nice and warm, and comforting to lean on someone’s shoulder after so long of carrying everything along. The sun shined brightly on the two as they say there, entranced by the view, and reluctant to break the moment.

Eventually, the sun went down below the horizons, and they had to make their way back down the ladder, and into the apartment. After a few minutes of figuring out sleeping arrangements, Sunny said goodbye to Basil, who would be sleeping on the couch with a blanket for the night. As she made her way to her own bed, Sunny reflected on the day.

It had been… a little crazy, if she was being honest. But Basil was here for her, and Aubrey might even forgive her. That was more than enough comfort for the black haired girl to go to sleep.

Basil sat up. Good, Sunny had gone to bed. She probably needed a lot of sleep, from what had happened today, and what might happen tomorrow. Basil was anxious about seeing Aubrey again. They didn’t exactly leave on the best of terms, and he hadn’t heard much of her since then.

Basil pulled his phone out, and made a group chat for Aubrey, Kel, and himself. Thanks to the tanned boy, he had gotten her number, although he hadn’t contacted her yet, fearing what she might have to say. But this was important, and he would push past his insecurities.

Group chat created

12:47 pm

F10wer b0y: Hey Aubrey, hey Kel, just thought I’d warn you both, but snuy looks… very different then when you last saw him. See you guys soon.

With that out of the way, Basil plugged his phone in, and drifted off to sleep.
