Chapter Text

San wanted to pull his hair out of his head. Why did he have to say that in front of Yuna? Things between Yeosang and him already weren't the best and he just made a fool of himself. They had never properly talked to each other after they got distant because of sans own faults but here he was going on calling himself Yeosangs boyfriend in front of Yeosang’s ex.

Yeosang may be right ; he's better off with his books anyway.

If San had to be honest he never really liked Yuna. No matter whatever wrong there is between Yeosang and him, he can never deny that Yeosang deserved better than her. From the moment they started dating it was evident she had only been using the relationship to get more popular. She never loved Yeosang and Yeosang deserves to be loved right.

Anyone who doesn't know Yeosang may think he's a cold hearted university boy with no fucks to give but San knew that wasn't true. If anything Yeosang always cared a little too much about everyone. Yeosang was someone who would tease you on your face being savage and petty but when youll be tired, he would also be the first one to tuck you to bed with head pats and kiss your forehead when you're fast asleep.

Yeosang genuinely was one of the strongest people San has ever met and he couldn't ever not appreciate him for that. San doesnt know what exactly went wrong one day but suddenly they wouldn't smile when they look at each other. The eyes which used to get excited when they saw each other had started to avoid each other whenever they met by any chance. San was still okay with those but it had hurt him when Yeosang had started taunting him at every chance he would get. San knew he meant no harm but to be hated by someone who had meant a lot to him hurt like fuck.

San had decided he would avoid yeosang if that would make Yeosang feel any better and honestly he was proud of him for doing a pretty good job in it. But alas he had to go ahead in a situation he was uncalled for and mess things even more messier than it already was.

It's true San had tried his best to not get involved in Yeosang’s matter. He knew the other would not appreciate it but he couldn't just stand here and see Yuna trying to humiliate and guilt trip Yeosang. He just went ahead and did the first thing he could think of without thinking how it could hurt Yeosang further. He really was a dumbass. No wonder Yeosang hated him.

Yeosang wouldnt ever hear his apology, San knew that by now but avoiding Yeosang for Yeosangs sake was something he could do and that's what he was going to do, he determined.

He stopped writing what he had been writing and safely put it in his bag.

“Choi San, you've had a long day, let's go to sleep.” he murmured to himself and tucked himself to bed. He could figure all this out the next day.

San for the first time had missed his alarm. He was late to Ms. Kim's class and could not concentrate on his class either. He really needed to stop thinking about Yeosang. He decided to wait for his friends at the cafe. He thought of completing the project he wasn't being able to concentrate at all on.

He had his head buried on his laptop. He looked up when he felt someone's presence. The seat across from him was occupied by someone, and it was none other than Yeosang. He tried thinking hard about why would Yeosang be there when the last time they encountered each other it didn’t end well. San ignored Yeosang’s presence and continued on with his work. The deadline was today and he needed to complete it.

“Can’t you see me?” Yeosang asked San in a plain but obvious tone .

San didn’t say anything and continued typing on his laptop. Yeossang got up for his order and San was relieved but it all went flying off the roof when Yeosang came back to his seat but two iced americano and croissants with him. Those were his favorites but he wouldn't let his mind wander to that.

“Are you just gonna ignore me?” Yeosang asked again after 15 minutes had passed and his order had already arrived.

San finally shut his laptop and stretched after he had finally finished his work. He acted uncaring about Yeosang being there at all. No matter how comforting Yeosang’s presence was to him he was confused about the same.

“Do you need help with schoolwork or something?” San finally asked and crossed his arms. It was weird enough already that Yeosang personally came to him, especially when there was no reason to at all.

“I’m good.Take that drink and the burger” Yeosang said and nodded in it’s direction.

“Why?” San asked and looked at him suspiciously.

“Because I bought those for you?” Yeosang bought food for him. He surely didn't listen to it right, did he?

“But why?” San being confused would be an understatement to what he felt.

“What do you even mean?”

“It’s weird that you’re here and even weirder that you’re buying me food. Did you poison those?” San felt guilty when he said that but chose not to show it.

“Why would I? Besides, killing someone using poison would be too boring” Yeosang really was something else.

“Okay fair point. I’ll take those then” Not everyday San had the pleasure to get free food and this time it was even more special since it was Yeosang who was offering. After the previous day's incident it was better to listen to what Yeosang wanted. He didn't want to hurt him anymore.

“Actually, I was wondering,” Yeosang began to say as San ate, “Would you be okay with dating me?”

San coughed as he almost choked on his food after hearing what Yeosang just said. Yeosang handed him a glass of water and he chugged it down.

“Did I hear you correctly? What the hell?” San fixed his glasses and looked at Yeosang like he was crazy, “Is this a prank? I swear Yeosang, you’re just wasting my time”

San knew he had hurt Yeosang but he didn't expect Yeosang would want to humiliate him with a prank like that. He wasn't in his right mind when he had uttered those words in front of Yuna but this was a little bit too much.

“Yes. I mean you heard me correctly and I meant ‘fake’ dating me” Yeosang replied.

Of course Yeosang will never want to date him for real. Who was San kidding anyway. He was already too clouded with his emotions and he would never ever do something like this. He could pretend to fake his real emotions. Hiding them was something he had got used to but he definitely would never do that.

“Are you crazy? Did you hit your head?” San looked at him in disbelief.

“No I didn’t and well you see because of what you did by saying that you’re my boyfriend, I’m pretty sure she’ll do everything to confirm that we really are that’s why Wooyoung gave me an idea to fake date you” Yeosang explained.

“And you really believed Wooyoung? Well my answer is no so thank you for the coffee and the food, I’ll go now” San got up and left the cafe without looking at Yeosang.

Did his emotions really didn't matter to Yeosang? How could he ever ask him to do something like that. He wanted to cry but before that he had to leave. He really needed a break from his emotions and no way was it possible in front of Yeosang. San headed to the only place he found comfort in, the library.
