“Komaeda-san......”
Nagito was snapped out of thought and he flinched very subtly
“Yes Hinata-san?” He said while looking at Hajime
Fuck this is gonna be a hard conversation. Come on Hajime you can do it get your shit together. Hajime thought to himself.
“Last night i let my anger get the best of me and i... i snapped at you and almost hurt you. We barely know eachother yet i disrespected you–
Nagito opened his mouth to say something but Hajime kept talking
and i genuinely want to get better with my anger and make it up to all the people I've snapped at before.” Hajime said this in such a rush he had to take a quick breath before continuing.
“I understand if you can't forgive me, it's completely reasonable but I want to take you out”
Nagito looked a bit.... flustered and he was about to say something but Hajime interrupted
“NO NO NO I DON'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT” Hajime added immediately while moving his hands from side to side infront of him. His face was completely flushed red.
“Hinata-san.... it's alright I'm used to people getting angry at me”
Nagito said this with a melancholic smile.
Hajime felt even guiltier now.
“Oh no Hinata-san i really don't want you to feel guiltier than you already are, I'd be more than happy to come just that er....
today has been really unproductive and i still don't have a solution to figure out what Nanami-san told you”
“Komaeda-san... we're a team. Don't blame yourself, we will find a way together” said Hajime and he was subconsciously placed his hand on Nagito's and clasped it.
“We're a team...? Aren't I your detective?” Nagito said doubtfully
“Nope we are a team now, i may not be as skilled as you but i will help you in every way possible... afterall it's my girlfriend we're looking for yeah?”
As Hajime said girlfriend he realised he was holding Nagito's hand and he pulled his hand away just slowly enough so Nagito wouldn't notice or find it rude.
Right after he did that Nagito pulled Hajime into a hug. Hajime was caught off guard but melted into the hug quickly. It felt like both Hajime and Nagito needed the hug.
Nagito's soft white hair tingled on Hajime's neck and Nagito's coat just made the hug warmer and cozier. Hajime could feel his heartbeat getting faster.
This time Nagito pulled away first to Hajime's dismay
Hajime gave Nagito a reassuring smile and Nagito smiled back.
“So Komaeda-san, can we go at 8PM today?”
“Sounds good Hinata-san, where should we meet up?”
“You can text me your address and I'll pick you up"
“No no i can't bother you more Hinata-san we could take the train–
“Shhhh Komaeda-san, i want to make it up to you, let me”
“Fiiiine” Nagito said while texting Hajime his address.
After Nagito left, Hajime was just cleaning his house then he realised what had happened today.
He hugged Nagito..
Hugs are no big deal, but Nagito seemed so cold and blank when Hajime first saw him. But now he seemed to show his feelings more....
The thought of Nagito bonding more with Hajime made him giddy inside.
