By it's nature, this is a peek backstage, so be warned.

Notes:

I used a more messy version of this while writing, which also had a few white spaces that I had to fill in.

Spoilers for everything in Snake in the Chestnut, except for the alternate ending.

  • Karya experiences a short state of existence at the edge of Time.

  • Hermione arrives into the past, joins the Time Division as Mrs Atreid

  • <offscreen> Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) denies Helen’s application to the Time Division.

7th of July, 1996

  • Harry dreams about the Daphne’s story.

7th September, 1996 (Saturday)

  • Harry has his first lesson with Dumbledore.
  • Karya arrives in the past (from her point of view) and meets Daphne.
  • Daphne takes the girl to the Headmaster.
  • Dumbledore and Harry get introduced to Karya by Daphne.
  • Harry tells Karya stories and shows her patronus Prongs.

8th of September, 1996 (Sunday)

  • Cadmus and Helen find their family tapestry with two new names on it.
  • Astoria and Daphne speculate about Karya.
  • Hermione, Harry, Daphne and Astoria have a meeting with Dumbledore about Karya.

  • Harry, Karya, Hermione and Astoria run into Ron.

  • Meanwhile, Ron meets up with Astoria to pass messages between Greengrass sisters.
  • Harry fights Draco Malfoy, Goyle and Crabbe (under polyjuice) in the Room of Requirement.
  • <offscreen> Draco escapes the Room, heads for Karya and Daphne, Harry hot on his heels.
  • <offscreen> Dumbledore arrives at the Room of Requirement, finds injured Goyle and Crabbe, extinguishes the fires in the room.
  • Draco miscasts a deadly curse, but still hits Daphne.
  • Harry uses Sectumsempra on Draco with crippling efficiency.
  • McGonnagal arrives to find Harry barely standing, and Draco and Daphne in serious condition.

October, 1996 - April 1997

  • <offscreen> Dumbledore and Harry destroy the Diadem horcrux (and the vanishing cabinet).
  • Dumbledore makes a deal with Rufus Scrimgeour regarding Harry and his help with Ministry propaganda.
  • Wizengamot hearing where Draco is found guilty of being a Death Eater, but narrowly evades Azkaban because of heavy injuries and young age
  • Harry becomes a poster boy of Rufus’ Ministry, to escape persecution for his use of a Dark Spell.
  • Harry joins the Auror Office as an Auror trainee, gets no real training, only photo-ops and speeches.
  • <offscreen> Snape disagrees with Dumbledore’s handling of Harry’s use of dangerous spells.

2 April 1997

  • Daphne is still drinking medicinal potions to deal with side effects, her condition is improving.
  • Daphne convinces/strong-arms Hermione to join the Unspeakables hoping to get saved from future death.

7th of April 1997

  • Harry eats at Slytherin table with Daphne and Tracey.
  • Hermione has a meeting with McGonagall about her Unspeakable application.

12th of April, 1997

  • Daphne asks Harry to see the Chamber of Secrets.
  • Daphne steals a basilisk’s fang for herself.

13th of April, 1997

  • An ambitious Chamber of Secrets photo-op is infiltrated by Voldemort loyalists/imperiused ministry workers.
  • The Basilisk, turned inferius attempts an attack on the Minister.
  • Severus Snape is reminded to kill Dumbledore by Mrs Malfoy.
  • Snape breaks the Unbreakable Vow and dies.
  • Voldemort’s supporters attempt a coup at the Ministry, and fails due to quick arrival and cooperation of Dumbledore and Scrimgeur.
  • Helen Greengrass among the injured in the coup attempt.
  • <offscreen> Ron and Astoria try to find Mrs Greengreass among the injured / via the map.
  • Unspeakable Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) kidnaps Karya and Aidos, stunning Lupin in the Order Headquarters.
  • Harry arrives at Grimmauld Place only to find Karya gone.

14th of April, 1997

  • The press covers the Ministry Coup extensively.

15th of April, 1997

  • A famous propaganda poster is released to the public;  it’s a photo of Harry casting a Shield Charm just in time to save the Minister (and himself).

16th of April, 1997

  • Dumbledore begins a legal battle over Malfoy fortune, hoping to cripple Voldemort’s funding.

17th of April, 1997

  • Pius Thiknesse arrested because of the anonymous tip by Cadmus Greengrass.

18th of April, 1997

  • Kingsley becomes Head of Auror Office, promises to actually train Harry.

19th of April, 1997

  • Severus Snape’s funeral.
  • Cadmus comes to offer his unofficial support for Harry and Dumbledore.

20th of April, 1997 (Sunday)

  • Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) interviews Hermione for the job in Time Division.
  • Hermione partakes of Myrdin’s Snakes, and her knowledge becomes bound to the Department of Mysteries.

April, 1997

  • <offscreen> Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) talks about Karya with Hermione, ensuring the knowledge becomes unusable for Harry, as Hermione can no longer talk about it.

26th of April, 1997

  • Hermione realizes her interactions with Harry and Daphne are forever limited by the secrecy of her job.
  • Harry offers Daphne to move in with him, Daphne declines.

30th of April, 1997

  • With a small help from Kingsley, Harry organizes a distraction at St. Mungos’ to allow Daphne to visit her mother in secret.
  • Daphne, Mrs Greengreass and Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) swear two Unbreakable wows.
  • Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) shares some knowledge of the future and her identity.
  • <offscreen> Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) gives Daphne and Helen a Myrdin’s Snake each, to consume and protect the secrets of time better.
  • <offscreen> Daphne interprets the future information to mean her death is inescapable <this is true in canon timeline>.
  • Daphne spends some time talking with her mother after Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) leaves.

1st of May, 1997

  • Daphne goes drinking with Harry in Regulus’ room, sure that she is going to die in the future.

13th of August, 1997

  • Dumbledore dies in his sleep.
  • Elder wand remains undefeated.

  • Dumbledore’s funeral.

13th of November, 1997

  • Harry stops actively searching for Karya.
  • Ron, Astoria, Harry, Daphne, Cadmus and Helen spend a day together.
  • <offscreen> Possibly some other members of the Order attend. Maybe even Tracey Davis..
  • Daphne declines to be reinstated into the Greengrass family, not seeing the point <maybe this gathering could be turned into an omake, but Nauro is lazy>.

November - October, 1997

  • <offscreen> Daphne moves into Grimmauld Place.
  • More skirmishes between Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix. Aurors get their fair share of action, too.
  • <offscreen> Scrimgeour’s tactics grow more vicious.
  • Scrimgeour missing in action.
  • Auror Office is moved to France.
  • Other Ministry-in-exile preparations with impending Voldemort’s takeover.

30th of October, 1997

  • Daphne heals Harry’s injury from one of the skirmishes .
  • Daphne builds rapport with Kreacher.
  • Death Eater Corban Yaxley becomes an interim Minister of Magic.
  • Daphne suggests getting married to Harry.
  • Harry Potter is announced to be Unspeakable Number One.

31th of October, 1997

  • Rufus Scrimgeour confirmed announced dead, resisting arrest.
  • Citizens of Magical Britain still resist Voldemort in spirit.

November-December, 1997

  • Kingsley Shacklebolt assumes the position of Minister-in-exile.
  • <offscreen> Daphne and the Order of the Phoenix start courting support from the ICW members against Voldemort’s Magical Britain.

15th of December, 1997

  • Harry and Daphne hold a wedding in Paris.

1st of August, 1998

  • Birth of Karya Lily Potter.
  • Hermione Granger confronts Hermione (as Mrs Atreid) over kidnapping of Karya Potter.
  • Skirmish between Nott, Hermione and Hermione ends up with Mrs Atreid dead.
  • The Head of the Time Division calls Hermione and Nott to his office <covered in Chapter 3: Extra Scene: The Forest at the Edge of Time >
  • <offscreen> Mrs Atreid’s death officialy registered as suicide

3rd of August, 1998

  • <offscreen> Mrs Atreid’s funeral in the Department of Mysteries.

7th of September, 1998

  • Daphne is telling the completed story about the chamber of secrets, for toddler Karya

  • <offscreen> Daphne gets Kreacher to releveal Regulus’ story

  • Daphne is admitted to a french Hospital as the old curse returns

 17th of October, 2001

  • Five years and five days and five hours after getting hit by Draco's miscast curse, Daphne Cyrene Potter passes away.

18th of October, 2001

  • <offscreen> Harry visits a cripple Draco Malfoy, but doesn't kill him. <Covered in Chapter 2: Cut Scene: The Cripple and The Widower>

19th of October, 2001

  • Daphne’s Funeral.

Unspecified - October, 2003

  • Ron gets some lasting injuries in the continuing wizarding war.
  • <offscreen> All of the horcruxes are destroyed, including Nagini.
  • <offscreen> Voldemort gets suspicious after Nagini’s demise and checks upon the Cave, finding the R.A.B. locket.
  • <offscreen> Voldemort’s attempts at locating the horcrux or the origin of the locket fail because of the active Fidelius Charm protecting the London Grimmauld Place.

31th of October, 2003

  • Voldemort brings the R.A.B. locket to the Department of Mysteries .
  • Hermione Granger, acting as one of the secret keepers for Grimmauld Place after Dumbledore’s Death, reveals its location for Voldemort during his visit to the Department of Mysteries.
  • Voldemort tortures Hermione under Cruciatus Curse.
  • Voldemort attacks the Grimmauld Place.
  • Harry dies, and tries to save Karya, the soul magic involved becomes a focal point of the paradox
  • Voldemort dies by his own rebounding curse.
  • Harry’s Horcrux is destroyed, but he does not wake, stuck in a comatose state.
  • The Order arrives to see the aftermath, only to bring Harry to St. Mungos.

1st of November, 2003

  • The wizarding world celebrates the second defeat of Voldemort.

6th of June, 2004

  • The Time-Vault containing Karya Potter and her house elf opens.
  • Hermione brings Karya to see Harry in St. Mungo’s.
  • <offscreen> Karya is taken in by Astoria and Ron.

7th of June, 2004

  • Karya starts visiting Harry as often as she can.

Unspecified, 2005

  • <offscreen> Nott and Hermione invent a more complex mechanism for time travel, with very limited uses, only to be used by the Department of Mysteries.
  • Hermione uses the invented method to travel to 1973.

31st of July, 2035

  • Harry Potter wakes up from his catatonic state.

 

Notes:

With this, I should finally get to mark Snake in the Chestnut complete, even as the timeline hints at a spin-off potential at a few places.

I very much doubt that these spin-offs will see the light of day, but should that happen, I will try to link them with this story in some manner.
