Chapter 5: The Student Council

Chapter Text

Milly Ashford breathed a sigh of relief when the Student Council clubhouse came back in sight. With Kallen out sick and the other various members visiting her in the hospital, she had a hard time cleaning up the mess left behind after that attempt at the world’s largest pizza failed. Luckily, Kallen didn’t mind Lelouch and the president skipping class to go visit, knowing they would need time after the festival.

To Milly’s surprise, Lelouch didn’t seem tired at all. Sure, he was definitely huffing and puffing plenty from sweeping confetti, but his steps only seemed to get faster (still not especially fast, though) as they got closer to the house. Motion lights lit up the front entrance slightly though, and Milly found herself realising just what had Lelouch so energetic.

The door, gilded carvings reflecting the golden light, swung open. Milly could see Lelouch break out into a rare smile as he greeted his roommate. C.C. seemed as beautifully stoic as ever, but her words were all the more surprising to Milly.

“You’re late.”

“I know.”

“We’re going to bed now.”

“I’ll say good night to the president first.”

“I’ll wait for you.”

Milly was pretty certain she would have heard Shirley’s scream of surprise even if they weren’t on a phone call. As the president had been trying to get the two together, she felt the need to let the other Student Council members know of this new…development.

Rivalz was unsurprisingly excited too. “Prez? Prez? Prez? You sure? That’s my buddy right there!”

Suzaku was a little more reserved and said “I’m glad he seems happy with her, even if they've known each other for just a few mon-”

“But that’s my Lulu!” Shirley cut Suzaku off, adding “I’m going to investigate this. Milly, what if it’s not what we think?”

“Sure Shirley, best of luck.”

Notes:

Hope you enjoyed my first fic in literally years :) I may one day write the same events from the point of view of Lelouch and/or C.C., probably with more editing than this piece.

Constructive criticism welcomed.
