Chapter Text
Kazuya knew he wasn't probably supposed to wander inside Eijun's room but he'd nothing to do and she was still in the shower. Her parents and grandfather had all went out early, leaving the both of them alone at home (and Kazuya wondered if it was a Sawamura thing to be so trusting) but Eijun said she was going to introduce him to her friends so they were also about to leave once she actually finished her bath.
Eijun's room was surprisingly simple. A large bed, a desk with a small bookshelf that contained mostly baseball magazines and shoujo manga. Aside from her everyday clothes, she mostly had baseball uniforms in her closet and he even found an old mitt inside. If he didn't know any better, he would've said the room belonged to a boy if not for the lack of male underwear. There wasn't anything interesting that caught his eye, which didn't surprise him because Eijun was simple, so Kazuya just randomly took one of the more recent magazines his girlfriend had and laid on her bed.
He was bored, flipping through the pages of the magazine. It was an old issue from almost two years ago and he figured Eijun bought it before she moved to Seido. Kazuya let out a yawn, was about to shut the magazine and just take a nap when he saw his face on the glossy paper encircled with a red marker.
"Oho~ what do we have here?" He cooed teasingly, the wheels in his brain already coming up with several ways to embarrass his girlfriend.
Upon closer inspection, he saw the note she wrote pointing towards his picture which said 'Seido', ’partner’ and 'nice ball!'. The word 'Seido' was underlined boldly and Kazuya realized what it must have meant: Eijun chose Seido because of him.
He snickered at the thought because wow that's going to embarrass her but as the thought actually sunk in, he began to flush and soon slapped a hand to his face, now silent and caught between feeling embarrassed and happy. He rolled to his side, curling up as he began to sort out his emotions. Dammit. All this time he'd thought she came for the baseball program, well she still might have, but it wasn't just for the program. She came because of him-- damn if that wasn't adorable like a chick following the first thing it sees.
Kazuya's chest was just overflowing with intense emotion, he didn't understand or know he was capable of feeling such intensity. He didn't know what to do with it and how to keep it all inside. He was still in the middle of getting into terms with this foreign feeling when he heard the door open and Eijun coming inside.
"Ah-- Miyuki Kazuya, what are you doing inside my room?!" She demanded and despite being unable to see her face with his back against her, he knew she was giving him a scowl and a glare.
He didn't dare answer her, not trusting himself to speak coherently with all that he was feeling at the moment. Kazuya remained immobile on the bed, half hoping that his girlfriend would think he died or turned into a rock and would leave him be until he was him again-- but this was Eijun.
"Oi, you lazy bum, get off--" she interrupted herself and inhaled sharply, "b-bastard! How dare you go through my things!"
He felt her climb on the bed and heard the magazine being shoved aside before he felt her hands grabbing him.
"Stop laughing, idiot!" She accused him, probably feeling embarrassed and the thought I'm the one who should be embarrassed, idiot crossed his mind. "Miyuki!"
He turned to face her as she pulled him, which both caught them off guard for a moment until Kazuya tackled her and pinned her down on the bed with his body. He had his arms wrapped around her and his face buried on her hair. Eijun tried to squirm her way out but he only held her tighter.
"I can't breathe, idiot!" She exclaimed and he only loosened his hold slightly. After a moment of silence, she hesitantly asked, "d-did you see the...thing?"
"Yeah," he muttered quietly, feeling the sudden rise of heat of her skin and felt even warmer. God this was stupid.
She let out a groan and buried her head on his chest, hands clutching onto his shirt tightly. This was embarrassing and Kazuya entertained the slight regret of actually opening the magazine but went against it. He would do it all over again and check out all the other magazines Eijun had, half hoping and fearing what he might find (did she scribble stuff under other players, did she have other magazines of him or was this exclusively for this one magazine and him?).
"Don't let it get to your head, bastard," she muttered as a warning before giving him a light head-butt on the chest.
Omake
"You left your friends for greener baseball fields."
Kazuya's ears were quick to pick up those words and fell like his world was being flipped upside down again. He was well aware of the great importance Eijun had for her friends, she valued them as much as she valued baseball and she left her childhood friends (and family) to form a battery with him.
"You guys said it was fine!"
"Yeah--"
"It was only 'cause ever since you got back from your trip to Tokyo, you've been a zombie!"
"It was obvious you wanted to go."
"We just didn't want you to feel bad when you chose Seido."
"I don't know what you saw there but you really were out of it," Wakana teased, knowing fully well what was going on. Under the table, she gave Kazuya a light kick and smiled teasingly at his flushed face.
"What, I bet you saw a hot guy," one of their friends teased, "you girls would choose the hot guy--"
"Toilet!" Kazuya quickly said and left the table.
"I-- I went for the baseball! Don't get the wrong idea!" He heard Eijun exclaim before entering the comfort room.
"Idiot." This was too much emotions for one afternoon.
