Step 1: Ask a friend for help
“How do you ask a fairy out?”
“I don’t know,” Joochan shrugs, carefully applying yellow polish to his nails. “I’m not sure if you realize but I’m a werewolf. I know nothing about fairies.”
“Aren’t you dating a fairy though?” Jibeom tilts his head, careful to not move his hands. “How did you ask her out?
The other stops in his tracks, his face going red.
“What n-no- no what are you talking about?” he faltered.
“You know. That one girl you walk to and from school with. The long curly black hair with the Violeta Hall uniform?”
“She’s just a friend.”
Jibeom doesn’t reply and smirks to himself when Joochan goes back to painting his nails with his face still red.

Step 2. If your friend doesn’t know what to do, google it.
How to ask a fairy out
It’s universally known that fairies adore flowers. Give them their favorite flowers to let them know you are interested in them.
That’s great news! Donghyun had a dance performance tomorrow evening, so it would be the perfect time to bring him flowers.
That night, he orders a bouquet he knows Donghyun loves in his favorite colors.
Jibeom arrives at the floral shop the next day, a bell by the door jingles as he steps in. He goes up to the counter and asks for his order.
The employee goes behind the doors and comes back with the bouquet he ordered, sending Jibeom a weird look when she hands it to him he said;
“He’s gonna love this!” with the biggest smile on his face.

Step 3: Give the flowers to the fairy.
Once Donghyun’s performance was over, he goes backstage to congratulate him with Jaehyun and Joochan by his side. When Donghyun comes out, he’s greeted with cheers from Jaehyun and Joochan and then with a bouquet from Jibeom.
“Oh? Thanks?” Donghyun says with a fake smile that goes unnoticed by the three others.
“You’re welcome,” Jibeom grins and gives him a hug which the two other boys join them in for.

Step 4: Freak out on why they’re ignoring you.
It’s weird. Donghyun’s been ignoring him like the plague since he gave him that bouquet. Whenever he tries to talk to him, he comes up with an excuse saying he has something to do or somewhere to go.
“He hasn’t talked to me in 3 days!” Jibeom bemoans as he takes a sip of blood. “Did I do something wrong?”
“Probably,” Jaehyun answers. “Maybe he’s angry at you?”
“I agree with you doing something wrong, but I don't think he’s angry,” Joochan interjects. “When he gets angry he yells and puts his hands on his hips and that’s about it. Did you get into an argument with him? He ignored me for a few days when we had a big argument.”
“I don’t recall ever arguing with him lately,” Jibeom thinks. “Or ever actually. We’re usually very calm with each other.”
“Then I don’t know,” Joochan shrugs, continuing to stuff his face with food.
“He should be free after school today. He doesn’t have practice nor does he have fairy training today,” Jaehyun points out. “Maybe you could catch up to him before he leaves and talk to him.”
“Yeah, okay. I’ll do that.”

Step 5: Kiss & Make up
“Donghyun!” he yells out. “Can we talk please?”
He sees Donghyun stop in his tracks and pants heavily with his hands on his knees when he’s in front of him. Curse their buildings being so far from each other.
“Jibeom? Why’d you run here? Your building is on the top of the west wing. Do you know how far away that is? You shouldn’t have run after me or if you wanted to, why didn’t you use your super-speed?” Donghyun nags, a frwn on his face.
“Well, how else was I supposed to talk to you if you keep ignoring me?“ he finally answers with a small smile when his breathing gets back to normal. “Besides, you know my abilities are useless in the light.”
“I’m sorry for ignoring you,” Donghyun apologizes. “But what else was I suppose to do? I just followed what you asked me to.”
“What do you mean? When did I say that you should ignore me?”
“Those flowers you gave me those nights ago. Don’t you remember?”
“The flowers? Were they ugly? Is that why you’ve been ignoring me?”
“Oh my gosh,” Donghyun's eyes widen, smacking his face with his palm at his stupidity. “Oh, I’m so sorry Jibeom I forgo-”
“Why are you apologizing again? Please, just tell me what I did wrong with the flowers.”
“The flowers in the bouquet meant things like go away, I hate you, and other negative things,” he explains.
Jibeom blinks.
“How could such pretty flowers mean such horrible things! I thought they were really pretty so I got them for you. I swear I didn’t mean any of that!”
“I know you didn’t,” Donghyun interrupts. “I’m really sorry. I should’ve realized that you don’t know anything about flowers. It’s just that we’re taught this since a young age and we still are learning about them now and when you gave me those flowers I was so sad because I really like you and you told me to go-”
His ranting goes to a halt when lips shush him before quickly pulling away.
“I’m sorry for kissing unexpectedly, but I need your attention,” Jibeom cups his face. “I really like you too. A lot actually. If I had known earlier, I could’ve given you flowers that meant ‘I like you.”
Donghyun smiles at that and hugs him.
“Kiss me again?” Donghyun whispers shyly, looking up at the taller with hopeful eyes.
Jibeom gladly complies and kisses him.
“Again.”
“As much as I’d like to kiss you more, do you want to go out on a date?”
“Yes,” Donghyun replies with a cute smile. “Why don’t we go on one right now?”
“I’d like that.”
Mission complete. You’ve successfully asked the fairy out.

Bonus: Be told you are an idiot, but so is your fairy.
As they walk past stores around the city, the younger of the two stops them at the flower shop that Jibeom got the flowers from and points at a red flower that Jibeom’s never seen before.
“Look it's you!”
“What is that?”
“That’s a geranium.”
“Never heard of it. What does it mean?”
“Stupidity.”
“Hey wait! You’re also a geranium too! You forgot that I’m a vampire who didn’t know a thing about flowers nor their meanings.”
“Well, I guess we’re a pair of geraniums.”
