Yoongi is in his studio opening up his day with coffee when he receives Jimin’s message asking him if he could see him for lunch today .
“Joon ah I am having lunch with Jimin today , so don’t wait for me”
After calming Jungkook down Jimin thinks it’s necessary to take a chance finally and talk to one of his hyungs , he thought about approaching Seokjin first but it felt like maybe he would not be comfortable with talking with Seokjin without Jungkook or maybe it would be too nosy of them to do confront him so he decides on the easier route , Yoongi .
After dropping Jungkook off to his gym , Jimin let’s Yoongi know he will be dropping by his studio for lunch . If there is something Jungkook is not aware of about Yoongi , that is he has been harboring the biggest crush on Namjoon since they worked on Namjoon’s debut album . The only person who Yoongi has ever admitted his feelings towards Namjoon is his drinking partner Jimin . So when Jungkook lets him know that Seokjin is seeing Yoongi , Jimin is worried of what is happening and what would be happening further , this all seems like a disaster waiting to happen . If it was something else he would have waited till their weekly movie nights to discuss .
More than the prospect of his heart breaking if Seokjin was taken , Jimin is more worried about his friends making a mistake .
Over a bowl of Rice cake soup Jimin asks Yoongi the question that has been eating him up , he puts his spoon down and sits up straight , pondering over how to ask but then goes for it “ Why are you dating Seokjin hyung ?” Yoongi looks up with shock , as he is trying to bite of the rice cake . He takes some time to answer and the 30 seconds of him chewing feel like hours to Jimin . “We aren’t dating , we are just there for each other for comfort “
“Are you trying to say you’re hooking up ?”
Yoongi picks up his spoon , trying to drink the soup , “We are not hooking up , hyung needed someone and I just happened to be there to help , we slept together twice it isn’t a big deal . “
“And what about Namjoon ? Are you giving up on him ? Have you moved on ? And if its twice why did Jungkook tell me you were there almost every week ?”
“Wow you were really wait for this . Jimin ah I still love Namjoon but this is really not about me . Seokjin hyung …” Yoongi pauses , he contemplates what to say next “ Hyung is not doing well , listen this isn’t the first time we hooked up , we were roommates in college , and we’ve been bestfriends forever so like obviously we know each other and if Hyung needed me I would do anything for him in a heartbeat .”
Yoongi sighs “ As I said earlier , we only slept twice , the rest of the nights I was just there to be with him as a friend , are all of your questions answered ?” There’s a hint of tiredness in his voice , it also seems like Yoongi is holding a lot back but Jimin doesn’t push it . It’s already hard to talk about this , to ask more would turn into an argument .
“Hyung there is something I need to tell you .” Jimin crosses his hands and takes some time to pause and think it over , “We are in love with Seokjin , Jungkook and I. But that’s not the reason I am doing this right now . I was worried about you and Namjoon . I mean I don’t want you and Seokjin Hyung to date when either of you are in love with someone else , that wouldn’t be fair to anyone .”
“ I know . I will ask Seokjin to stop , I will tell him I can’t do this .”
“Sorry , I just want us to be safe . You’re both going to get hurt this way .” Jimin reaches out to hold Yoongi’s hand to comfort him , to let him know he understands .
“Are you and Kook okay ?” Yoongi strokes Jimin’s hands with his thumb , to sooth Jimin .
“Well” Jimin sighs “ We are okay , this is a little hard for both of us , I am okay with how things are and if we were to move forward and ask Seokjin out , I would be okay with that as well but what I am scared of-” he closes his eyes , “What if asking Hyung out changes everything , not just between me and kook but what would happen when Seokjin refuses , it would be so awkward for him and he wouldn’t feel so comfortable with us as he is right now . What if he starts hating us?”
“Jimin why are you assuming he would say no ? You know Seokjin is the most understanding person , he so kind I don’t think he would stop being friends because of it. He can never hate you and kook . Come on you guys are his babies. He loves you so much . You should ask him out “ he murmurs under his breath “before it’s too late”
"Maybe I think it's time to finally step up , i am waiting for Jungkook so i guess that gives you time to end things with hyung too"
"I hope things work out for you Jimin ah" Yoongi smiles.
"I hope it does"
