It was already 5am in the morning when Songhwa had woken up in her office.
She immediately jerked up in surprise once she saw the time. She wasn't supposed to sleep here in the hospital and she was supposed to go home to her family.
After her long surgery, she must've dozed off in her couch once again due to her tiredness from the surgery.
This had also happened years before, when she was still doing VIP surgeries and when she was going back and forth from Sokcho to Seoul.
Honestly, she really needs to have some rest from time to time. It truly gets hectic for her at times because of her occupational hazards and her family. And due to this, it becomes detrimental for her health at some point.
And due to this, she had forgotten that yesterday was actually a special day for her. For them.
Since she was so busy with work, she had rarely seen Ikjun around the hospital. She always had back-to-back surgeries so they weren't able to eat together during lunch. She also hadn't slept at home two nights prior due to that.
Planning to go home as soon as she could, she hurriedly prepared to go home as she packed her things and changed her clothes.
There weren't many vehicles and there were few people around the streets since it's still dark outside, and because of this, she arrived home in a short span of time.
Songhwa thought that Ikjun might be worried since she hadn't come home yesterday, especially because she had been so preoccupied with work.
As she went inside their house, she was surprised to that there's a bouquet of flowers and a note in the living
room.
She's already so used on receiving love and these gifts from Ikjun, but nonetheless, she still wondered if today was a special day.
And then it suddenly hit her. Today was their wedding anniversary, and she had forgotten all about it.
This made her sadder and more guilty. She pouted as she looked at the flowers and the note given to her. She thought that Ikjun might be sad and disappointed that she hadn't come home yesterday, and knowing him, he usually doesn't miss out on important days like these.
She picked the note up and read,
”Hi love! i suppose u just came home from work. Personally, I think you've been stressed and tired from work lately, so please take care of yourself!!! I'm actually so worried abt your health so don't push yourself too much. I
love you so so so much!! Our babies love you too.”
She smiled as she was reading this, and she looked at the bottom part of the letter and read,
”P.S.: You might be very tired from work to even remember that it's our wedding anniversary yesterday, but don't be guilty! We understand you. But, the three of us are actually planning on surprising you yesterday night, but you haven't come home so I thought you must've operated on a surgery. And because of that, i sent the kids off to bed immediately rught after we finished preparing a little something for you. I hope you enjoy it! check what's

From your big baby Ikjun < 3”
She saw the USB which is placed next to the bouquet. Then, she turned on their TV and inserted the usb.
She saw the video they had prepared. Ikjun was currently recording the preparations in the kitchen which he had decorated yesterday night and she could see that the kids were dressed very well. She was so touched by this gesture that she felt guilty but happy at the same time.
The kids were currently so excited and they're waiting for
Songhwa to come home.
Eunha asked her dad,
”Appa, will Eomma take long? When will she come?”
Ikjun told them,
”Eunhayah, Ujuyah, I guess Eomma will come home tomorrow morning, so let's just film a video for her, arasseo?”
Then the two replied, albeit being a bit disappointed at first,
”Arasseoyo, Appa.”
Then, Eunha could be seen sitting on their sofa and Ikjun was saying,
”Alright, Eunha will go first. Talk to Eomma now, love.”
Then Eunha said energeticaly and ever so innocently, as she also waved in the camera,
”Hi, Eomma!!! Appa said Eunha should speak in front
of the camera. He said I should thank you for being a part of our lives and thank you for marrying him."
Ikjun could be heard in the background, saying,
”Aniyaa, Eunhayah!! Don't tell her I instructed you to do so!!”
Eunha looked confused for a moment, then Ikjun told her,
”I'll tell you what to do... Alright, let's start again...."
But before Ikjun ended the video, Eunha laughed and said,
”Of course I know what to say and do, Appa. I'm just joking hahahaha.”
”Aigoo~~ I wonder where you got your cheekiness and sense of humor, love...”
This had made Songhwa chuckle. Eunha truly is a smart and funny kid. Also, knowing the heights that Ikjun had to go through just to give this preparation to her makes her very happy and thankful.
The next proper video is Eunha saying,
”Eomma! Thank you for marrying my dad and thank you for being the best eomma. Eomma saranghaeyo!!! Please take care always and I miss you already. Goodbye!!”
Eunha waved her hand as she sent some finger hearts to Songhwa.
Then for the next one, it was Uju.
Uju told her,
”Annyeong, Eomma! Thank you for everything, thank you for being the best mom I could possibly have. Thank you for coming to our life and I'm very thankful and happy that you accepted me as your own. Thank you for the love you give us all and thank you for giving me a complete family. This day will forever be special to me because of that... I love you!! Also, Appa said that you can't make it home right now because of work. It's really ok for us Eomma, because for me, you already make everyday the best day because of your presence and love for our family. Bye and see you tomorrow!! Saranghaeyo~~"
She's currently in the verge of tears. It truly is heartwarming, and she feels very lucky to have them. She thinks whether life could get better than this, because it's actually the best.
Then it was Ikjun's turn.
”Hi Songhwa-yah! The kids are already sleeping so im now gonna film myself. I'm sorry if this is too cheesy for your liking, but I guess you won't be able to resist me, right? Hahahhaa. Anyway, I want to thank you for everything you've done for our family. You're the best gift I have and I'm the happiest ever since you married me. I'm forever grateful to you and thank you so much for completing my life. I hope I'm doing the same to you and I hope I also make you happy. Enjoy this special day! I love you very much!! And don't be dejected because you'd forgotten about our anniversary. Eunha and Uju understand you. Your efforts for the family is more than enough to show how much you love us, and it's totally normal to forget these things anyway. But above all these, thank you for being the mother of my children and for constantly being the light of my life. I'm very lucky to have you that I actually question myself if i deserve someone like you. You might not believe me everytime I tell you that, but it's actually true. Also, thank you for marrying me, this day will bethe happiest day in my life. Thank you for simply existing, you bring so much light and love to everything. Thank you for making compromises with me and Uju. I know you don't like marriage and having children so ty for accepting me as your husband. I'll make sure to make you the happiest everyday. I hope you know how much I love and treasure you. I'll do better and I'll try my best to make up to you and to make up for our lost time. Chae Songhwa, my best friend, my first and last love, the biggest supporter of my jokes, my happiness, and my wife, you're everything that I only used to dream about, and you're everything I wanted to be and more. Always remember how much I ardently love you, and I hope my video to you had showed my love for you. From the bottom of my heart, I love you. Happy anniversary.”
And after seeng this, Songhwa is actually crying tears of joy and she's tearing up. She never thought that Ikjun actually feels this way. Even if she could read him like an open book, his message for her had still surprised her in the best ways possible.
She thought about what Ikjun had told her. If there's anything, she's actually the one who doesn't deserve him. It beats her how he taught that she's perfect even if she's always so busy and tired that she can't even make time for her family. He puts a lot more effort than her, and he's a lot more perfect because he never fails to show her that he cares and loves her.
Aigoo, Lee Ikjun. How could he make me cry at this time...
She had actually never thought that there'll come a point in her life that she'd experience this. She never thought she'd feel this much love from a person and she feels so happy after seeing this. It's so wholesome and heartwarming. It's the best.
Then, she turned off their tv and she went to their bed room.
She was surprised to see Eunha and Uju who are sleeping in Ikjun's left side of the bed.
She thought that he must've told the kids that they should sleep together since eomma isn't here.
She smiled as she looked at them sleeping peacefully.
Then, Songhwa went on Ikjun's right bedside then she hugged a still sleeping Ikjun as she laid her head on his chest.
She knows that he's still sleeping so she shouldn't wake him up, and it's better to just talk with him later in the morning.
But, once she had remembered his video for her, the floodgates came undone. She just realized that she's already sobbing and it made her hug him tighter.
This had woke Ikjun up and he was worried to see Songhwa crying.
He rubbed her back and asked her, with a voice that's still hoarse from sleep,
”Songhwa-yah, why are you crying? Did you just come home? How was work? Uljima...”
Songhwa simply replied without looking at him,
”I already watched the video. Thank you so much for that, Ikjun-ah. What can I do to repay your love... I love u too... very much...”
Ikjun smiled because of this. He planted a peck on top of Songhwa's hair, and said,
”I'm glad you liked it. Nado manhi saranghae... Happy anniversary...”
