Chapter Text

If Ami had not known Cindy well, she would’ve thought the address she was sent was a false one to send them in a loop. She was pretty sure they had circled the block about thrice already with no restaurant in sight. Luna had stopped her from calling Cindy yet, saying they would surely find it soon. However the longer they walked, the less people they came across, and soon enough there was no one on the street besides them. Ami couldn’t shake the strange feeling of something being off, and her subtle glances towards the surroundings gave her no better idea of what exactly it was. Seol Hee looked curiously up at her, and in that split moment she caught sight of a silhouette in the reflection of her sunglasses.

“Watch out!” Ami called out, gathering the other girl up in her arms before jumping to the side. Seol Hee squeaked in surprise, a bewildered expression on her face before someone landed with a light clack where they had just been standing.

“My, my,” An all too familiar voice drawled out, “If it isn’t my friends from Tiger division.”

Seol Hee took a step away from Ami and relaxed into a fighting pose, her hands held up defensively and ready to wield ice. Ami got into a similar stance before she realized who it was, taking her a second as the woman was dressed different than usual. Instead of a sleek black bodysuit and matching mask, she was wearing a vintage band t-shirt and jeans. Ami let out a heavy sigh and crossed her arms over her chest.

“Black cat.” Ami said, identified the woman out loud rather than greeting her. She placed a hand on Luna’s arm, who then reluctantly lowered her fighting stance and stood up straight, also crossing her arms over her chest.

“Ding ding ding,” Felicia said, mimicking the correct answer sounds from a game show, which Ami rolled her eyes at.

“That’s no way to greet old friends. Bring it in, Whitey!” Felicia exclaimed, and pulled Ami into a tight hug, squeezing the air out of her. “Unfortunately I don’t have any of those nano-bombs to greet you as warmly as you greeted me, so this’ll have to do.”

Ami grunted, and with some difficulty, firmly pried the silver haired woman off of her. In the close proximity however, she caught wind of a familiar scent that seemed to stick to Felicia. It was a strong smell that slightly burnt Ami’s airways if she took too deep a breath, like mint but more mellow. Furrowing her eyebrows, she recognized the scent as the smell of a certain brand of asian pain relief patches.

“Why do you smell like..” Ami started, but couldn’t remember the name of the brand. All she could remember was the time she had walked into the agents of atlas base in Seoul after a mission and was hit with a wall of that exact smell and nearly hacked out a lung trying not to breathe it in. Cindy had walked over to her in concern but only made it worse as she was the source of that smell, with a whole box's worth of patches on various sore parts of her body. ‘ What?’ Cindy had asked afterward. ‘Superhuman healing doesn’t change the fact that I was slammed through a wall. It still hurts.’ Ami narrowed her eyes.

“Why do you smell like Silk?” She finished, and Seol Hee, who looked like she was plotting murder, traded her expression for a wide eyed one.

“Really? I thought you would’ve asked me how I know your face.” Felicia mused, her signature smirk now on her lips. Ami froze, staring at Felicia for a good few seconds before she flicked her hand to the side, unsheathing her claws. Before she could make her move however, Felicia spoke up again.

“Cool it Whitey, I’m not here to fight you, or threaten you, or any of that.”

Seeing as Ami was not convinced, Felicia continued, “It was quite easy putting two and two together. As soon as I saw your interactions with Miss Snow over there, I knew it was you.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Ami growled, taking an aggressive front to hide how she really felt about the implication. In her peripheral vision she caught a glimpse of Seol Hee, and the girl was smirking. Smirking . She couldn’t stop the heat that flooded her face. Felicia smiled knowingly. Ami cleared her throat, “Your diversion won’t work. Answer the first question.”

“Well if you must know, she tackled me off a roof. Very rude by the way, doing that even when she knows how long I take to heal.” Felicia said, feigning a wince as she brought a hand to her back.

“You probably deserved it.” Ami said dryly, feeling her face start to cool down. She really, really hoped that the street’s glow was dim enough to hide her blush. She felt Seol Hee come to stand right next to her before the other girl subtly knocked the back of their hands together. Ami inhaled sharply. Not cooling down anytime soon.

“If you aren’t here to fight, then why did you stop us?” Seol Hee cut in, adjusting the sunglasses to look Felicia in the eye unobstructed. Ami’s posture stiffened. She forgot the glasses were night vision. Did that mean she saw everything? Just as that thought occurred, Seol Hee subtly interlocked their fingers, and Ami’s mind went completely blank.

“Oh, I have some intel for you.” Felicia said, in a tone alike a purr. She reached into her pocket and pulled something out that fit perfectly in the palm of her hand. She held it up for Seol Hee to see, and she gasped. It was a Fujinet IEM. “You’re probably here in New York looking for what’s behind these things, am I right?”

Seol Hee opened her mouth, then hesitated before saying, “No..”

“Mhmm, sure.” Felicia said before tossing the IEM towards Seol Hee, who easily caught it with her free hand. “I found boxes upon boxes of these in an old plant down near Long Island. I can show you later if you’d like.”

Seol Hee’s eyes narrowed, and she seemed to contemplate for a few seconds before she spoke up again. “What do you want?”

Felicia smiled. “I knew that we would see eye to eye.” She leaned back and rested a hand on her hip. “My request is reasonable, and it aligns with both of our interests. To be honest, I’m even being generous by tagging along.”

Ami sighed, her mind finally regaining clarity from the psychological surprise attack. “Just spit it out. We don’t have all the time in the world. “ She ordered, regaining the steel in her tone that she usually used on criminals and threats.

“I just want you to get Fujinet out of New York.” Felicia said. “Simple as that.”

“And your motive behind that?” Seol Hee said, unimpressed.

“That’s for me to know and you to never find out.” Felicia said with a wink. Ami rolled her eyes, about to retort before she heard a shop door jingle open and a familiar pattern of footsteps. She turned her head towards the source of the sound and was hit once again by the strong scent of pain relief patches.

Soon enough, Cindy emerged from an alleyway and caught sight of the unusual trio. Her expression changed rapidly in nanoseconds, from surprise to confusion before ultimately stopping on concern. If Felicia was surprised to see Cindy there, or even knew who she was, she showed no signs of it on her face.

“There… you guys are.” Cindy said, slowly approaching the group. She stopped a few feet away from where they stood and sent Felicia an unreadable expression. “And.. you. I thought you were going home.”

Ami and Seol Hee shared a look. Ami bit back a smile, feeling as if she should grab some popcorn.

“Aw, you want me gone so soon?” Felicia cooed, standing up straight to look down at the other girl. Her gaze held a challenge, but Cindy wanted no part of it.

“I didn’t say that. You told me you were going home like, thirty minutes ago.” Cindy rebutted, giving Felicia a pointed look. She turned to face Ami and Seol Hee, including them in the conversation now but making the smart decision to avoid eye contact. “What’s going on here?”

“Was just catching up with old friends.” Felicia answered nonchalantly, slinging an arm over Ami’s shoulder as to prove a point. Ami shot her a death glare, which she grinned at. “She put a bomb in my neck.” She tacked on.

“What?!” Cindy exclaimed, looking incredulously at Ami, who shrugged.

“Dangerous criminals landed illegally in my country with a plane full of henchmen. I think the bomb was a pretty understandable precaution.” Ami said, and successfully shrugged Felicia’s arm off from her shoulders. “Plus she busted my lip for that, so It’s even.”

“It’s not even. But since we’re friends, I’ll forgive you.” Felicia hummed, and by Cindy’s expression Ami knew they had successfully thrown her for a loop. She gave Seol Hee’s hand a squeeze and glanced briefly at her in her peripheral vision. The idol understood immediately, setting aside her annoyed expression for a brief smile before she spoke up.

“Anyways, Dinner?” Seol Hee asked, which seemed to snap Cindy back to reality.

“Oh yeah, of course! You guys must be starving.” Cindy said, smiling sheepishly. “Sorry for choosing such a discreet place, but I swear the food makes it all worth it,”

“It better.” Ami hummed, and started walking towards where Cindy had just come from, Seol Hee compliantly in tow. She cast Felicia a glance over her shoulder. “And you?”

“Count me in.” Felicia said with a wolfish grin that could rival her own. Cindy took a deep breath, muttering something along the lines of This is gonna be a long night to herself that Ami was only able to pick up on thanks to her super hearing. Indeed, she agreed.

—------

“I didn’t know you two knew eachother.” Seol Hee said, taking a sip of her lemonade. The statement itself was harmless enough, but apparently not to Cindy. The journalist choked on the noodles she had been chewing. Ami reached over the table to slap Cindy firmly on the back, but Felicia who was sitting right next to Cindy, beat her to it. She stopped choking, and Felicia handed her her drink, scolding her lightly under her breath.

“It’s hard not running into each other in the same city.” Cindy explained after she calmed down, taking another bite of her food, but carefully this time.

“Small world.” Felicia added.

“I didn’t know you guys knew each other.” Cindy said, sweeping her gaze from Felicia to Ami to Seol Hee.

“Small world.” Ami repeated, biting back a smile. Cindy gave her a deadpan stare, which she smiled cheekily at. They resumed the meal with a silence filled by the background noise of the other diners in the establishment, and only when Cindy set her chopsticks down against the rim of the bowl did someone speak up again.

“About what we asked of you today.. Did you look into it?” Ami asked, and Seol Hee raised her eyebrows in surprise. Cindy had a similar expression, except she glanced nervously between Felicia and Ami, as if trying to send a message. “She already knows.” Ami clarified, and left it at that.

“I uh. I looked around for the factory you were talking about.” Cindy said, stirring her straw around in her cup and making the ice shift, filling the air of the table with the clinking as it hit the sides of the cup. Although it should have just been a normal part of the conversation, Ami felt the tension rise across the table as the seconds went on. Everyone’s eyes were trained on Cindy, and Felicia was almost glaring in anticipation. “I didn’t find anything.”

Felicia inhaled sharply, which made a sound not unlike a hiss. Cindy sighed, and turned to face the silver haired woman. She shot Felicia what seemed to Ami to be a pleading look, and Felicia responded with a gaze so fiery it burned away any chance of negotiation between the two. Ami leaned back in her seat, and wondered if she would have to break up a fight today. Seol Hee set down her now finished lemonade, and glanced over at Ami’s full cup of water, catching her friend’s attention. Ami picked up the full cup and placed it gently in front of Seol Hee who beamed at her. She smiled back, feeling her heart jump slightly in her chest the longer she looked at her friend. With some difficulty, she managed to turn away and return her attention to the situation at hand.

Felicia appeared to have calmed down, or at least on the surface level. She pulled a wallet out of her pocket, a fuzzy neon green one that Ami highly doubted belonged to her, and took out a crisp hundred dollar bill from it before leaving said bill on the table and standing up.

“I’ll call you later, Whitey.” Felicia said cooly, nodding slightly at Ami and then she was off, out the door without another word.

“What’s with ‘Whitey’?” Seol Hee asked.

“Beats me.” Ami shrugged. Seol Hee looked over Cindy, who had seemed to be re-evaluating her life decisions as she stared at the reflection in her leftover soul. She reached across the table and put her hand over Cindy’s, which made the other look up and she offered a sympathetic smile.

“You should go after her.” Seol Hee advised. “It’ll show her you care. I’ve seen it work like five hundred times.”

“In dramas.” Ami added, which Seol Hee quickly shushed her for. “That or an apology with flowers works.”

“But I.. I have nothing to apologize for.” Cindy grumbled, and if she had said it to convince herself, it didn’t appear to be working. “We’re not even…anymore?” She sighed, weaving expertly between words said out loud and inside her head. “I’m trying really hard to keep it professional and fair for everyone.”

“But you know you’re not being fair to her .” Ami concluded for Cindy, and defeatedly, the other girl nodded. She didn’t really understand, but one thing that was clear was that Cindy had something for white haired villains.

“Go.” Seol Hee said, before retracting her hand and awkwardly folding her own on top of one another. “And uh, sorry in advance if we arrest your not-girlfriend.”

“Good luck trying.” Cindy said, and although it was phrased like a challenge, she said it with the tone of someone who knew many defeats. She stood up from her chair as well, and took a crumpled twenty dollar bill out of her pocket before smoothing it out on the edge of the table. “I’ll go after her. Sorry about all this.” She put down the twenty on top of the hundred dollar bill Felicia had already left.

“Good luck.” Seol Hee said, making a hwaiting motion with both of her fists. Cindy smiled before winking at the idol.

“Good luck to you too.” She said, bearing a knowing grin. She snuck in a wink at Ami too before she quickly left the restaurant. Seol Hee turned red and Ami watched her curiously. What did Cindy mean by that? Before she could think further on it however, a waitress came up to them and cleared some of the dirty plates before noticing the money.

“This is more than enough for the whole meal.” She informed them, her eyebrows raised.

“It’s okay, keep the change.” Seol Hee said without a second thought, and stood up, grabbing Ami’s wrist as she did so. Ami stood up as well, and compliantly let herself be dragged out of the restaurant by Seol Hee.

“I’m gonna kill her.” Seol Hee muttered under her breath.

“Huh?” Ami asked, concerned.

“Huh?” Seol Hee asked in return, smiling innocently. Just as Ami was about to respond, she was interrupted by a ding from her pocket. Fishing her phone out of the dress pants, she saw that she had received a text from an unknown number signed off with a cat emoji. Upon further scrutiny, she realized it was an address.

“This must be the place Felicia was talking about.” Ami said, pulling the location up on a navigation app on her phone. “It’s not too far from here actually.”

“Let’s go.” Seol Hee said, but she didn’t move, looking expectantly at Ami. After a beat, Ami realized what the idol was waiting for and coughed, hiding her flushed cheeks with one hand and taking Seol Hee’s with the other. She began to walk.

—------

As soon as they got hundreds of feet within the vicinity, Ami had to clench her nose with one hand and breath through her mouth. It reeked of magic, or rather, power.

“This is definitely the place.” Ami said, letting go of her nose for a second to speak clearly which she immediately regretted. The power, bright and persistent in nature, flooded her senses. It was like eating a glob of wasabi. She quickly held her nostrils shut again, not caring if she sounded goofy. “The power is strong.” She said. Seol Hee giggled.

They walked closer to the seemingly quiet industrial building, and Ami let go of Seol Hee’s hand, motioning for the idol to get behind her. Seol Hee glared at her, but did as told, although she unfurled her hands at her side defensively, ready to wield ice if need be. The two crept closer until they reached a side entrance that was barred off by what seemed to be a heavy duty padlock and an iron chain.

Ami flicked a claw out and quickly picked the lock, tossing the piece of metal aside once she was finished. She then made quick work of the chain, opting to break it instead of untangling it and tossed that aside as well. Finally, the door creaked open and Ami took a tentative step inside.

It was pitch black inside, and dead silence besides the occasional scurrying of rats. Ami’s vision took a while to adjust, but once it did, she saw Seol Hee already looking around, her eyebrow creased in confusion. Ami took one glance at the surroundings, and looked over at Seol Hee, who shared the same thoughts as her.

“It’s empty.” Seol Hee said, her voice barely less than a whisper. She glanced at Ami apologetically before asking, “Can you smell anything?”

Ami let go of the hold of her nose once again, and instantly regretted it. The scent of the power infiltrated her nostrils, and she felt as if she had eaten a whole mouthful of wasabi. It burned in a unique way, clearing her sinuses and nasal passages but god damn did it hurt. Feeling slightly dizzy, she took a step back and promptly fell. Her vision grew blurry with tears, and she felt herself fall against something warm and soft instead of hard concrete. She was then moved outside, and the light from street lamps temporarily blinded her before she came to her senses.

“Seol?” She asked, sniffing slightly to clear the remainder of the scent in her airways. She then noticed she was still being held up by Seol Hee, and took a careful step onto her own feet.

“Ami!” Seol Hee exclaimed, her face wrought with worry. She immediately cupped Ami’s face with her hands once they were free, and drew her friend close. “Are you okay? I’ve been calling your name for the past three minutes.”

“Uh.. Yeah I think I’m okay now.” Ami said, offering Seol Hee a lopsided smile. She reached up and took the night vision sunglasses off her friend’s face before she leaned forward, and pressed her forehead to the idol’s. “The magic was definitely there, and a lot of it.”

Seol Hee cursed a string of words that would impress a sailor, and Ami laughed. “It’s definitely Saya right? Although she’s great at acting like she couldn’t harm a fly, there’s something off about her. Plus her whole ordeal with Cindy.” The idol started, her cupped hands squeezing Ami’s cheeks as she continued to thread together her thoughts. “She has the money and influence to clear this place in short notice, and if she does have-had- whatever. Something with Cindy, it would explain why Felicia cares so much about this.”

“It would.” Ami confirmed, “Now we only need to collect actual evidence or go after Saya in order to close out this mission.”

“Seeing how fast she cleared this place out, I’m pretty sure the latter will be easier.” Seol Hee said. “Where to?”

“Hmm.” Ami thought aloud, before becoming acutely aware of how close their faces were. She was close enough to be able to count Seol Hee’s individual eyelashes. Her brain began to work significantly slower. “Um… C..Cindy would be a good start.”

She took the chance to pull away from Seol Hee, who seemed almost reluctant to let her go, and pulled her phone out of her pocket. She could hear her own heart beat raging, and barely controlled the way her hands shook as she scrolled to the correct contact. She hit the ‘call’ button and was directly sent to Cindy’s voicemail. She sighed and looked up at Seol Hee, who gave her a gentle smile.

“How about Cindy’s place instead?” Seol Hee suggested, and Ami nodded. The idol eyed her friend, concern still written all over her face before asking, “Can you walk?”

Ami took a step, and then another before stumbling. Seol Hee was again quick to catch her.

“Nope.” Seol Hee said quickly before switching her tone to a strict one,“Onto my shoulders.”

“Seol.. You’re strong but I don’t think you can carry me..” Ami trailed off.

“When you’re in your small kumiho form I can.” Seol Hee said with a glint in her eye. She patted her shoulders. “Come on.”

“What about the whole PR no pet arctic fox thing?” Ami said, raising an eyebrow. “What about not having to give up my cover?”

“I’m sure it’ll be fine. Felicia knows anyways. Plus if we run into Saya, just don’t speak. You’ll be my pet arctic fox in her eyes.” Seol Hee said with a teasing smile, but she was only half joking. Ami was quiet for a moment, considering her options before she answered.

“Okay.” She agreed, and in a gentle glow of blue magic, she changed into a small fox, landing gracefully on her paws. She looked up at Seol Hee, who immediately scooped her up in her arms and peppered her face with kisses. Ami was very glad foxes could not blush. This happened every time Seol Hee was around when she was in her small fox form, yet she was never ready for it. Before she could squirm her way out of the hold, she was placed gently on the idol’s shoulders. She sighed, and curled herself up around Seol Hee’s neck, like a warm, fluffy scarf before muttering, “Really?”

“Sorry,” Seol Hee sang, not really sorry. “You’re just too cute.”

“Yeah, yeah whatever.” Ami grumbled, tucking her face into the crook of Seol Hee’s neck. Her next words became muffled, “Thanks for catching me.”

“Of course.” Seol Hee said, before her voice took on a shy tone Ami wasn’t familiar with. “You can count on me to be there when you fall.”

Ami hummed in response, and felt herself beginning to drift off. Between the warmth emanating off of her dear friend, her rhythmic footsteps, and the weariness of the day kicking in, she couldn’t do much to fight the sleep off, so she gave in.

—------

She woke up to the sound of a vaguely familiar male voice, and peeked an eye open to see Cindy’s little brother whispering erratically in slightly accented korean.

Noona..” He winced. “Cindy, She’s not home right now. It’s her usual patrol time.”

But the CEO. She’s here?” Seol Hee asked, and Ami moved her face slightly against her neck to let her know she’s awake.

Yeah, She’s in the kitchen. Please don’t fight her in our apartment though. ” He said, before opening the door a little wider. “Would you like to come in?”

“I would love to!” Seol Hee replied, and walked into the apartment. She took a few steps until the kitchen island was in view, and in turn, the woman leaning against it. “Fancy seeing you here. Small world huh? ”

Saya smiled, and put down the mug of tea she had been holding. “Small world indeed. Nice fox.”

“Thanks.” Seol Hee said, reaching up to scratch behind the ears of the fox around her neck who in turn, let out a sound comparable to a purr. “She’s pretty isn’t she?”

“Quite.” Saya agreed, her eyes studying the creature with a hint of curiosity. “You have good taste, keeping only pretty things around you.”

“Thanks?” Seol Hee said, and Ami rolled her eyes. What was that supposed to mean?

“Where’s your bodyguard?” Saya asked, crossing her arms over her chest. “Or should I say, White Fox?”

“She’s trailing your magic IEMs.” Seol Hee said, which wasn’t technically a lie.

Saya’s eyebrows raised, but a smirk grew on her face. “IEMs? I did drop a line recently. But magic?” She uncrossed her arms to gesture at herself. “How would I get my hands on magic?”

Seol Hee narrowed her eyes, and Ami shifted slightly. She had a good point. “Your magic has a distinct smell, and it was all over your production facilities.” Seol Hee said, giving Saya her best accusatory stare.

“Oh really?” Saya asked, feigning surprise. “I had no idea! That’s like, so crazy. I’ll check it out tomorrow.”

Seol Hee faltered. That was right. They had nothing to directly connect Saya with the magic. Ami sniffed the air. There wasn’t even the slightest trace of the power she had smelled earlier. Just as she stood up on Seol Hee’s shoulders did Albert speak up for the first time since Seol Hee entered the apartment.

“I uh.. I’m gonna go for the night. Can you guys tell Cindy when she gets back?’ He said, and Ami suddenly noticed the backpack slung over his shoulder and the cap fitted on his head.

“Sure thing lil bro.” Saya replied, and Seol Hee raised an eyebrow. Lil bro? Ami scoffed, and jumped from Seol Hee’s shoulders onto the kitchen countertop. Maybe if she got closer, the magic would become apparent. “Hello fox.” Saya greeted as Ami padded over. “Or should I say, kumiho ?”

She heard the apartment door click shut. Ami growled.

“Okay fine you got me.” Saya admitted, holding her hands up in a surrendering manner. Ami dropped off the counter, onto the ground and changed into her human form. “But just know that I’m only saying this because I don’t want to make a mess out of Cindy’s apartment.”

“What?’ She demanded, more confused than anything. Saya’s will seemed to have been steel just a few seconds ago. “Explain.”

“It wasn’t profitable anyways. They’ll wake up soon. Having paid the ransom or not.” Saya explained, picking up her mug of tea and sipping it before continuing. “The magic itself is harmless. It only powers the mechanism snuck inside the IEMs that gives the brain’s natural bioelectricity a little nudge and knocks people out for a few days.”

“So you were bluffing? About the idols not waking up.” Seol Hee asked.

“Yup.”  Saya confirmed.

“What about the magic?” Ami asked. “Where does that come from?”

Saya’s eyes flared silver, and she suddenly had a wisping aura of power around her that she didn’t a few seconds ago. The familiar scent hit Ami, and she recoiled, backing up into Seol Hee. Just as she felt a gentle hand steady her, she heard the window slide open and turned to see Silk climb inside, directly followed by Felicia.

“What’s going on here?” Silk demanded, her eyes wide and flickering between her friends and Saya. Felicia scoffed from behind her.

“I was simply telling your friends here what they wanted to know.” Saya explained, the silver dimming down from around her and fading completely from her eyes.

“But in my apartment?” Silk complained, lowering her mask from her face. “I gave you the perfect opportunity to stop what you were doing and get away.”

“Yeah, she did.” Felicia growled, she plastered on a smile and that fiery gaze from earlier returned to her eyes. “How nice of her huh?”

“Fel–” Cindy started, but was cut off.

“Don’t ‘Fel’ me right now.” Felicia snapped.

“Oh?” Saya asked, feeding into the tension.

Ami noted that Albert had made the smart decision, and after grabbing Seol Hee’s wrist, she too, quickly left the apartment for the night.

They walked in silence for a good few minutes until they reached the elevator and stepped inside. Seol Hee reached out with her free hand and pressed the ground floor button. The gray doors slid shut and Ami leaned back against the railing, the silence finally giving her time to process everything that happened today.

“Um.. what Felica said earlier.” Ami started, standing up straight, and Seol Hee looked at her curiously, her eyes somehow still bright and attentive after the long day. “Wait no.” She paused, what if she was just assuming things? She cleared her throat, turned to face Seol Hee directly, and started again. “I mean, about what Cindy said.” She paused again. “No. Not that. I mean. The dinner I owe you.. Uh.”

“I like you.” Seol Hee blurted out, cutting off Ami’s indecisive speech. She blushed a deep red, but continued. “And I think, maybe, that you might like me too.”

“Oh.” Ami blinked, before turning an equal shade of red that was a mixture of embarrassment and bashfulness. “Your assumption is correct.”

Seol Hee beamed at her, and Ami smiled warmly in return, leaning forward to touch her forehead briefly against Seol Hee’s.

“Now about that dinner you owe me. How about a date?” Seol Hee asked, tilting her head to the side.

“I’ll see what I can do.” Ami said, a playful grin on her lips. Seol Hee rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. Ami shifted, seeming to consider her word choices before simply asking, “Can I kiss you?”

“You’d better.” Seol Hee said, and tugged Ami close.
