Chapter 7
Ugh! What now?! Chloe said “Should you answer your phone, Detective”? Lucifer looks at her, as he gives the bandage to her. He walked toward the kitchen counter as he grabbed his phone and answered it.
Lucifer is a little grumpy, as he told them “Yes ma’am. What?! You want me to be there in 5 mins”?! Chloe can hear his voice, as she slowly gets up without yelling in pain. As the call ended, Lucifer looked up to find Chloe standing up, but he could hear her groaning. He said “No, you can’t tag along with me because you’re injured”!
Chloe laughed, as she said “I’m not vulnerable”! Lucifer raised his eyebrow, as if he wanted proof. Chloe walked toward the kitchen, as she grabbed a knife. Lucifer told her “No, don’t hurt yourself, Chloe”! His sentences go in and out of her ears, as she puts the knife on her hand. The knife hit the flesh, and pulled down across Chloe’s palm.
Chloe inhales and exhales sharply, as she looks at her hand. There’s blood across her palm, and she realized that she is actually vulnerable! How?! She feels like her world comes to a complete stop, as she glares at her palm. When Lucifer sees the blood, he freaking out, but he’s not angry at her. He grabbed the bandage from the couch, and he walked to Chloe. Lucifer put her hand on his hands, as he did wrapping around her palm very carefully.
Chloe looked at his beautiful and calm brown eyes, as he was done with wrapping very gracefully. They lock eyes for a few seconds before Lucifer looks down. Chloe blushed for a minute, as she said “You need to go, because you’re 5 mins late”! Lucifer looked so confused until he realized, he thanked her and left her at his place.
Chloe looks around, as she feels the need to keep herself as busy as possibly. There is nothing she can do except sleep on the couch. Chloe decided that she was going to listen to the Detective for once, as she settled down on the couch. The detective still don’t come back, so Chloe is a little concerned when Trixie walks toward her.
She said “The reason why my dad left is that he might get something from a cold case years ago”.
“What is this case”?
“The case belongs to my grandfather, Lucifer’s father, John Decker”.
“What happened to him”?
“I have no ideas, as Dad shut down around everyone including me and my other Dad”.
Chloe looked at Trixie, as she said “Is there any way I can help him”?
Trixie pondered it, as she explained that she would be thinking it over. She has a history homework that she needs to complete before tomorrow. She definitely is a smart 7 years old, plus her dream is to become the first person to become Mars president. Det. Douche come by even though Chloe didn't call him that in front of urchin, so she asked him if he saw the Detective. He told her that he didn't see Lucifer yet, as he was leaving the precinct.
The Detective comes home really late at night, as Trixie is asleep. Chloe looks at Lucifer’s face, as he is a little grumpy. However his face lights up when he looks at her.
Chloe was about to ask what happened today, but Lucifer told her “I don’t want to talk about this case that I got caught in”. Chloe walks to him, as she said “Alright, you don’t have to tell me. I’ll go to see Linda tomorrow morning, and please do call me if you need my help”.
Lucifer nods, as Chloe opens the door, and closes it. Lucifer was alone, as he was really afraid to tell his partner the truth about his father’s case. It all happened on that fateful night.
Lucifer Decker, along with his father, John were walking to this cafe where they get grilled cheese sandwiches before John was to drop his son off to his acting class at a university. Lucifer was really excited about it, as his mother, Penelope, was an 80's actress, and she wanted to put her dream on him. But is it what Lucifer really wants to have?
They’re so happy to have caught each other up since John Decker was working this week, and Lucifer asked his father “I have something happen next week, can you be there”?
“Sure, son”. John Decker said.
Lucifer smiled for the first time in his life to have something. When a shooter showed up at the cafe, John warned Lucifer to run away, but he didn't listen. Lucifer ran to a table and hid, as John approached the shooter, said “Drop your weapon, let me help you”. It was a mistake! He was shot blank, as Lucifer yelled “NO”!!
Lucifer witnessed something that he was not supposed to see that night, but did anyone believe him? The answer was no. After what just happened, Lucifer kept going with acting class until he finished with Hot Tub High school. As he was about to quit university, he met Daniel Espinoza and they’re married within a few years. The rest is history.
Lucifer gets out of his flashback by having Trixie tackle him down to the ground. He knew that what he saw that night was worthless because nobody believed in him. He usually keeps everything about himself without revealing anything else. Lucifer doesn't like to have a pity around him because he considers it a weakness.
But Lucifer didn't consider his emotions to be a weakness, he considered it his strength. Pity is his only problem because he doesn't want people to apologize to him again and again. He wanted to call Chloe, but decided against it.
Chloe returned to her penthouse. She decided to leave the bandage on her back, as she’s waiting for it to recover. She went to her bed, and slept.
During the night, Lucifer cannot go back to sleep, as he decided to drive to the LAPD. The reason why he cannot sleep is because of his father who he loves so much. The case affected him really deeply. Daniel eventually has to pull him out before, and now? No. Lucifer cannot just leave this case to become cold.
He brought the box to his desk, as there is only night shift around. They’re puzzled as to why Lucifer comes at night, but they carry on. Lucifer tries to find new evidence, but all they have is old paperworks, and his witness statements. There’s no witness that night except for him, and a cafe owner who unfortunately died a few years later. The cause of their death was a heart attack at 45 years old. They’re healthy people, but it is odd that they died.
LAPD didn't receive this cafe owner’s witness statement because they were hiding when the shooting happened. Lucifer’s statement was the only thing that’s keeping him going on because he doesn't want to see a new detective take over.
The morning comes rolling around, and Lucifer is asleep by his desk with paperworks stuck on his face. As Ella, Dan, and Chloe are around, Chloe is looking for her partner just to find him sleeping. She slowly walked toward him, as she put her hand on his shoulder. He woke up, as he looked around to find her. Lucifer feels a little embarrassed, as he can feel the paper stuck on his face, as he gently pulls it away.
Chloe wants to help him solve his father’s case, but she also knows that if she offers her resources, he will turn her away. Daniel noticed the closeness that Lucifer and Chloe have got, and he’s worried that she will take advantage of his heart. He was getting really distrustful toward Chloe because he can feel there’s something about her that makes him so suspicious of her.
Daniel also wants to tell Lucifer about his confrontation with someone but he cannot. If he did, then harm will come after him and his family. Ella showed up with a gloomy look on her face, as she said “we caught a case”. Daniel sighs in relief, as he doesn't have to tell his currently separate husband.
Lucifer was about to grab a coffee, when Chloe offered him his tall non-fat Almond milk latte with sugar-free caramel drizzle. How did Chloe know what his coffee order is?! There's a post it note on his computer, so that’s how she knows.
They went to a abandoned warehouse, where there’s a body which is impaled by something, but there’s no murder weapon anywhere near it. Ella photo of everything at this crime scene, as Lucifer drinks his coffee. Chloe looked closely at this body, as she groaned. Ella told her “Is this somebody you know well”?
“No, but I heard of a commercial about that person, and her name was Blaine Campbell”. Lucifer told them “I heard about Ms. Campbell as well. She was about to plan an election against current Los Angeles mayor, Thomas Buckley. He also explains to Chloe that he’s not the most likeable person around here, as he won the election a few years ago against former mayor, Jayden Lawrence.
Chloe pounders for a few minutes, and Lucifer can see the machine in her head is running around. As the day going, Most of the forensics scientists leave the crime scene included Ella Lopez, as she said “I need to find the cause of death and time of death for Ms. Campbell”.
Chloe told Lucifer that she needed to be somewhere for a short time, but she’ll be back. He told her “Okay. I’ll let my boss know”. She nods, as she walks away from the crime scene, leaving only Lucifer and Daniel.
Chloe eventually goes to Lux to the penthouse. She prays to Amenadiel to let him know that she’s ready to go back to Hell. Chloe goes to her bar to have a sort of a final drink when her brother shows up, with a smile on his face. She told him that she needed to check on Hell for a short time. Chloe also knows that Hell and Earth run differently.
Amenadiel clutches the back of Chloe’s jacket, as he flies them to Hell, and he doesn't even bother to stay around. That makes Chloe really angry at him. Anyway, she decided to check on demons, and as she walked, one of them said “Queen of Hell is back”!!! All of the demons cheered, as Chloe started to get really scared. She can remember exactly what happened when she was a fallen angel.
Chloe can feel the ashes fall down like snow, and she is really hostile because it reminds her of the smell of fire. The wall around her is dark, and there’s no sun, moon, or stars. Chloe sees lots of doors closed, and it’s people’s guilt. She spotted her throne right above her, and she can remember how lonely it must be, for centuries.
Chloe also recalls a time when she was down here for the first time in her life, she had to battle against demons to gain control over them. It was brutal. She was so tired during that time of her existence.
Chloe walks to the door at the end, where there's a lock surrounding it. She sighs in relief. She knows who is in there, but she doesn't want to see them, because that person was the one who set the concept of rebellion in her mind.
Chloe didn't want to stay any longer, so she decided to pray again. The response? Nada. Nope. Nothing. She sighs in irritation, as she wants her siblings to know how she feels to have that communication disconnect. Demons gather, and surround Chloe, as she looks at them in confusion.
Chloe gets puzzled as to why. She has a bad feeling about this.
