You Ate HOW Many?!

Chapter 6: Vulgrim.

Summary:

Bonus chapter featuring our favorite shady merchant and an even shadier marijuana plant.

Chapter Text

“Come on, Vulgrim! I know you’re holding out on me. If Anyone in any of the realms has what I’m looking for, it’s you.” Reader pleaded.

Vulgrim chuckled in amusement. “You always know how to flatter me, Reader.” His wings fluttered behind his back. “I suppose for my favorite human customer, I could work something out. For old times sake.”

His grin widened lecherously. “Of course, not without something in return.” They raised a brow at this, and he drummed his fingers together.

“I’ll make you sweets for a week.” Reader proposed.

His grin widened. “Make it two weeks.”

“A week and a half.” Stubborn. No way I am going to miss out on this opportunity.

“A week and four days. I would like to have the better half of that second week, considering how long it took me to find and cultivate this… particular specimen.”

“You’ve got a deal.” They reached their arm out for a handshake that he gladly returned. “Give me a menu of some things you’d like, and I’ll get them to you.”

“Daily?”

“As often as I usually go out.” They narrowed their eyes at him. “Unless you plan on stopping by instead of me having to hunt you down all the time.”

“Ah, but my dear human! This curious little plant you are after--”

“Isn’t rare by any means, even after the world was fried.” They interrupted, crossing their arms. “I just happen to know you have some of the healthier plants.”

He hummed his assent. “Very well. One trip at the beginning of the week, one at the end. The final one at the beginning of the following week.”

“Perfect.” They opened their backpack to reveal some absolutely mouth-watering cookies and handed them to him. “Here’s a down payment as a show of good faith.”

He accepted them without hesitation, trading Reader a short list of baked goods in return. “Please bring those red velvet cakes at least once, they are my favorite.”

They nodded in agreement, taking the plant from him to grow in their garden later. It was two feet tall. Some of the leaves were wilting, but that could be fixed with some care.

Vulgrim watched them leave, snacking on the treats in his hand. Fury joined their side. She merely raised a brow in question at the plant blocking their face, but didn’t comment. With a mischievous grin, Vulgrim’s wings fluttered again. He was well aware about why humans were so fond of the plant. The one he traded them in particular had… mutated a bit at some point, so it was well beyond what could be considered potent. Perhaps I should have mentioned that. He shrugged to himself before slinking back through the Serpent Hole to await more unfortunate customers. They’ll figure it out.
