Chapter Text
Two babes borne the same day, same hour of the same world. Their mothers killed by a mourning one, one filled of anger and a pestilice called injustice.
But of course, they're were given different futures, each of their lives defined by one word that changed even their morality.
One daughter, was born of freedom. Stood for what she believed in and stood for her deceased mother. Against the one her lost both her children so long ago and takes it on the very world she lives in. She fights for the freedom her mother died for, fights for the freedom of her people. She waves her flag higher, one that symbolizes that the future generations be born and raised with mothers, not without. She stands in the flames of the fire and unflinchingly screams for change.
The other daughter was borne of security. She stood for order, and for the power to feel safe. Her mother too, was burned and killed in the flames of the Tyrant, yet she does not argue. Instead she waits and throws wood into the fire that Freedom stands on. Security waits for the flames to burn, for Freedom to cough up the pain of ashes, Security waits for the moment to strike. Her own fire simmers and waits, raised with anger and the will to live in her very core. Even though she is the one who put out Freedom, pouring acidic water on the new hope. Security will start a new life for the others.
Though for both, their lifes, their fates were decided the moment they were born.

"You're a traitor, Carey." Her beak clacked, anger puffing up in her chest. In one winged arm held flags that meant change, and hope, the other arm was clenched at her side.
"Ariona, I don't expect you to-" Carey started, pristine white teeth moving effortlessly despite the pain surrounding her.
"No, I don't understand how you could serve the same Queen who not only murdered our mothers, but continue to kill innocent people." Ariona huffed, feather horns puffing up.
"You understand you are talking about me." Carey crosses her skeleton arms, covering her sleek black uniform. Golden soul gleaming, broken in half and only held together by a thin strip at the bottom. A broken soul.
Ariona faltered, hand unclenched and horns dropped briefly, before quickly flaring up. "Still. You can help us, our movement." She sighed, waving a small flag in the face of the scarred skeleton.
Carey pushed it away, permanent scowl unmoving. "You know I can't. It would be a dishonor. Please don't interupt me. You must remember I am still a general. I still work for the Queen. Plus.." A smiled tugged at the corner of her teeth.
She brushed past Ariona, shoulder checking her on the way. "I have big plans, ones you would not even grasp at understanding." Walking away, Carey held her head high. Ariona, left alone like the remaining of the smashed egg. Not knowing she would be cooked burnt like Careys mother.
