Chapter Text

As Micheal tiredly blinked his eyes open he felt stiff, frozen in place almost. He was constrained in something that was hard and cold against him, he lightly wiggled around hoping he’d come lose but nothing happened, it was too dark to see anything but a red light in front of him. Then the voice was back, her soft tone filling the atmosphere as she explained what had happened. Her voice was far too soft and it was beginning to unsettle Micheal as she explained how she had kidnapped him and trapped him in a so-called ‘scooping room.’
She hushed herself as a pair of male voices began speaking in the background, he wanted to make a noise for help or something but the machines they were moving were far too overpowering for them to even hear him, so he quite struggling as the Ballora animatronic now was placed only a few feet ahead of him. A button sounded and much to Micheal’s dismay they started tearing Ballora apart, after three hits she was done, faceplate broken apart, and any possibility of her reactivating gone, was that going to happen to him? He thought, fearfully
The female kept talking, she opened his faceplates and he was able to see more of the room and he was finally able to breathe, he had been struggling since the tightness of the suit made him feel like he was suffocating.
Taking deep breathes he continued to listen to the mystery woman, she told him to keep the spring locks twisted because if he didn’t he could possibly die, and also not to wiggle either because the suit might close on him, this made Micheals panic rise even more than it was, his heart beating faster he swore it was going to burst out of his chest.
There were eight spring locks in total for him to wind up and boy was it hell. He had to lightly wiggle too to keep the weird little puppets from crawling up the suit, but as Micheal winded up the spring locks his mind wondered how long had he been here? It had to be passed 6 am. How long had he been blacked out for? But the biggest thought that ached Micheal’s heart was that if it was past 6 his wife was probably worried, wondering why Micheal wasn’t home, he had promised her he wouldn’t be in danger but here he was, he knew her first thought would be to assume something bad had happened to him.
He didn’t want her stressed out, so he tried even harder to keep the spring locks wound up so that he could go home and explain everything to her, tell her that he didn’t leave on purpose, explain everything to her. He’d have to tell her about the real reason he had chosen this job. And even though he was going through all of this, he still had no signs of his sister, which even further saddened him.
After what seemed like ages it happened, her voice disrupted him, the suit opening and he sprang out like he was a newborn, landing on the ground in front of the now beaten down Ballora, “Good Job… You’re free now… Brother..” The last part almost seemed like a whisper, maybe something from Micheal’s poor tired imagination, he frantically looked around the darkroom, locating the voice but never succeeding, had the voice really said what he thought it did.
The bells chimed signaling it 6 am. He stood up and left the room, heading down the halls, looking for the exit.

The rising sun blinded him as he exited the building. 6 am… 6 am of what day he thought, as he unlocked his car, shakily searching his pockets for his phone, he flipped it open, eyes widening as he felt his heart skip a beat. It had been almost 48 hours since he was last home, a day had passed since his last night shift, a day had passed since he hadn’t arrived home. Frantically he got into his car, nothing in his mind except for the fact that he had to get home.

When Micheal arrived home he found Y/n awake, well not really awake. She had been asleep on the couch, the tv still turned on and she was still in her regular clothing, Micheal walked over to her, flipping the tv off. “Hey… I was watching that..” She mumbled, opening her eyes and sitting up. Micheal shook his head, “Why aren’t you in bed? It’s late.” He attempted to help her up but she softly pushed him away, “I was worried… since yesterday you didn’t come home. I had to make sure you’d come home this time.” Micheal’s heart shattered as he sadly let out a smile, joining her on the couch, “Don’t worry, I’m here. I don’t plan on letting it happen again. I’ll always come home to you, darling.”
A weak smile grew on her face as she faced him, eyes watery as she tightly engulfed him in a hug so tight it was almost as if she feared that if she let go he’d disappear. Micheal gladly hugged her back, pressing his head into the crook of her neck, shutting his eyes, he didn’t mean to worry her so much but in truth, he could tell something bad was soon to happen at his job, he wasn’t sure what but he could feel it in his gut, especially after what had happened this previous shift. Micheal knew that whatever was to happen he couldn’t let her down, he’d come back, he’d beat whatever was to happen, and come back to engulf her once again.
Letting go Micheal planted a kiss on her forehead before standing up and walking over to the small stereo that sat upon a small shelf that consisted of many CDs the couple had collected since their tween years.
He picked a love songs cd and placed it into the stereo, playing a song that he knew y/n treasured, La Vie En Rose. The song played, surrounding the couple as Micheal turned around gently smiling at his beautiful wife, he swore that every day she grew more beautiful.
Walking over to her, he extended his hand, slightly bowing like a prince, “Madam, will you dance with me?” Nodding her head and tenderly smiling y/n accepted, placing her soft hand in his slightly calloused ones as he lifted her off the couch, his free hand snaking around her waist.
They began to slowly sway to the soft music, y/n softly chuckling as Micheal twirled her, the smile never leaving his face, a twinkle in his eyes from the happiness that was faintly twinged with sadness.
Y/n laughed before placing her head on his chest as they now just twirled and swayed to the music, listening to the lyrics and taking in each other.
“I’ve never felt happier or safer with anyone than I do you, Micheal. Truly I love you, please never leave. I wouldn’t be able to live without you by my side, you’re the only one for me, you’re the perfect man, I love you so much more than you could ever imagine.”
Micheal could feel a painful sadness in his heart at her words, he pulled her closer, making sure to remember every part and aspect of the woman he loved, just in case something were to happen to him.
“I love you too and I’m never going to leave you. I’ll stay forever.” That was all he was able to choke out, afraid if he talked more tears would fall, and he’d cry.
“Thank you for everything my love, you were the best thing that has ever been in my life.” and with that they stayed close to each other, swaying to the romance songs playing until y/n fell asleep in his arms.
He took her to bed, and tucked her in, sighing as he leaned his head against her lightly, shutting his eyes and taking in her soft breathing. He would explain everything once she woke up, he couldn’t keep her in the dark anymore.
Micheal then yawned, finally realizing how tired he truly was as he undressed and settled into the spot next to her. Instantly he fell asleep again, his mind wandering into nothing more than the deep state of slumber.
