CHAPTER 1

PART 4

After Jimmy had attempted to kill Buster Moon for the second time; he was betrayed by Suki, taken to prison, and his court hearing was today. Jimmy was at one side of the courtroom, in handcuffs, wearing an orange jumpsuit, sitting next to his lawyer. Suki was on the other side with her lawyer. The judge had hit the gravel on the sound block and had made their final decision. “Jimmy Crystal, you are hereby found guilty, and sentenced to 10 years in prison.”

Jimmy looked defeated and ashamed of what he had done. He had almost killed someone because they had blemished his perfect reputation. He looked behind him, just as he was being taken away, and he saw Porsha with Buster Moon. She looked at him, and just as quickly, she looked away, refusing to meet his eyes. And worst of all, he had hurt his daughter, his princess, and she would never look at him the same way. He was a monster and he would probably never see her again.

He was locked away in solitary confinement because he was deemed a problem to society. After four years, 1,460 days, he made bail, later he found out that it was because of Jerry. For once, he was actually happy that his assistant stuck around.

Jimmy was let out into society and free to go home to await trial. But he couldn’t enjoy it because being in solitary had destroyed his ability to function in everyday life. He couldn’t tolerate sounds that were considered to be in the norm, suffered from hallucinations, severe panic attacks, and delirium. His clothes didn’t fit him anymore and he lost most of his keen sense of direction.

He had to be watched closely for these reasons, and supervised so he would not hurt himself.

Sometimes when he was at home or out walking, he would see a tall dark figure wearing a black cloak and holding a scythe; he would moan and cry out, saying that he was going to be taken away. Other times, out of nowhere, he would begin to cry for no reason at all or shake, uncontrollably.

After five and a half months he was called back to the courtroom, however, his condition was still severe. He was sentenced to an indefinite period of psychiatric care and three months of community service.

Jimmy was seated in a white room, there was a desk on one side, and the chair, in front of it, that he was sitting on. He looked around quickly, his eyes shifting from side to side. He could feel the walls caving in on him. That was until he heard a voice, it snapped him out of his stupor.

“Mr. Crystal?”

He looked up from his hands to see that there was another animal in this room, it was a llama.

“That is you, right, Mr. Crystal?”

Jimmy didn’t respond, he just watched her. There was a sense of panic in his eyes as he whispered, “Yes… have you come to kill me?”

“Why on earth would I be here to kill you?”

“Because I’m a monster!” he cried as his hands began to shake. “I’m a monster…”

“You’re not a mon-”

Jimmy cut them off with a shrill cry. “They’re coming to KILL me!”

“Who-”

There! There,” he cried, “Right behind you.” Jimmy moaned as he saw the tall dark figure standing behind them. The tall dark figure had their hands on them but it seemed like they did not even know it was going on.

They looked behind them but there was nothing there, surprise, surprise. She wrote something down in her notes. “There is nothing there.”

Jimmy was on the verge of clawing his own eyes out when the tall dark figure didn’t disappear. He needed to get out of here.

“Let me OUT! Let Me Outta Here!” Jimmy cried as he got up from the chair.

“Sit down.” The llama commanded as they felt forced to use restrictive methods. The llama walked over to Jimmy and shocked him.

“Go back to your seat now!” she screamed. “Or I’ll be forced to do something that I really don’t want to do.”

Jimmy fell to his knees, he had been so close to the door. “I swear to god, you bitch, I’ll strangle you,” he snarled in a horse voice.

She tazed him again and once more for good measure.

He forced his eyes to stay open but it was no use, they shut, and he fell to the ground in a smoking heap.

Jimmy took his pills from the orderly and put the water in his mouth, swished it around, and he lifted up his tongue to show them that he had taken his pills. His routine had become clockwork. It seemed that his erratic behavior had mellowed down, and his hallucinations were less frequent.

He, once in a while, did twitch from time to time.

When his charges were completely dropped, Jimmy was finally free to live his life. He still had to visit with his therapist, that was mandatory. Every once in a while, he wondered what his daughter was doing now. He hadn’t seen her in six years. And his attire changed, it went from black suits and dark green ties, to a white suit and salmon colored sweater underneath. It was tailored to fit his new physique, since he had lost a number of pounds in his course of rehabilitation.

And when his daughter called him out of the blue; Jimmy had a feeling that it was high time that he visited her.

END OF PART 4

PART 5
The meeting between Jimmy Crystal and his daughter was an awkward one, but she was willing to give him a second chance.
“Is that you?” Porsha asked. “Jimmy?” She was stunned when she saw her father. He looked older now because it has been, what, six years since the last time she had seen him. He was wearing white and salmon.

“Yes, it’s me, Porsha.” There was a small smile that spread across his features.

She didn’t move.

His smile turned into a frown as he looked at her. “So you’re not gonna give your old man a hug?”

Porsha looked at her father and how he stretched out his arms for her, but she just couldn’t get flashes of memory of when he was acting like a monster out of her head. She took a step back. “I think it might be too early for hugs.”

Jimmy put his arms down and a feeling of sadness crept up into his eyes. She didn’t call him daddy anymore and he was seeing more and more how he had royally fucked up her life.

“Look Porsha, I’m sorry that I wasn’t there for you, and that I hurt you…” he said, apologizing.

Porsha looked at Jimmy, she didn’t think that she would ever hear those words coming from her father’s mouth. Her ears perked up and a giddy smile graced her youthful features. “I forgive you, Daddy!” she said with excitement. Porsha had completely forgotten about what she had said earlier about how it was too early for hugs. She went in for a hug, wrapping her arms around her father’s midsection.

There was a surprised look on Jimmy’s face at first but, eventually, he wrapped his arms around her, warming up to the hug. “Thank you, Baby, I love you.”

I love you too, daddy.” she said as she snuggled into the crick of his neck.

They stayed like this for a while.
