It was fifteen minutes that Tsukishima and Heather were waiting for Yamaguchi to arrive. They were going to walk to school together like always, but Yamaguchi didn't show up.
"Maybe he overslept...so lame" Tsukishima tched. Heather hit his should lightly.
"Just give him another 5 minutes. I'm sure he's on his way." Heather checked her phone. "We can't wait on him longer than that though, so let's hope he's on his way here." Tsukishima nodded and they waited.
He didn't come. He didn't text either. Heather and Tsukishima made their way to school and split up, like normal. Heather went to her club and Tsukishima went to his club room.
When Tsukishima finally made it to the club room and he was in shock. The whole team was crying their eyes out. Everyone was looking in the middle of the room where there were some dinosaur books and a few letters.
Not knowing anything, Tsukishima went towards the books and saw there was a note on them. He picked up the note and read
' Gomen Tsukki I couldn't do it anymore. It's not your fault so please don't think that. Tell everyone I love them.
-Yams

"W-what What does he mean?!" Tsukishima turned to Suga and Daichi. "Where's Yamaguchi Tadashi at?!?"
Suga shook his head and pointed to the other letters there. They were all sealed and adressed to Tsukishima. The tall blond male grabbed the letters and the books and ran out of the club room to his house. Completely disregarding school.
"Kei what are you doi-" Tsukishima pushed past his mother and locked himself in his room.
He slid down the door sobbing. He looked at the letters through teary eyes and read each one slowly. Taking in every word Yamaguchi wrote. The last letter broke Tsukishima's heart even more.
For the next few days, Tsukishima didn't come out of his room unless he had to eat or use the bathroom. The volleyball team tried texting and calling the blond, but he ignored them all. Heather even tried to contact him but during those days of his self isolation, he began to hate her. So Tsukishima turned off his phone and just read his dinosaur books.
Soon enough the team and Heather tried visiting him. Heather was sent away from Tsukishima and only the first years were allowed in his room. But of course it was not long until Tsukishima started ignoring everyone again.
Soon days turned into weeks and weeks into months. Tsukishima was slowly getting back to normal but he was in major depression. The pain of Yamaguchi was to much for him. To much, he started practicing more and more for Yamaguchi. Tsukishima started pulling Yamaguchi's weight on the team and no one stopped him.
Tsukishima vowed to never let Yamaguchi down again. So he keep practicing until he couldn't anymore.
As for Heather, Tsukishima stopped talking to her and she went on her way, without knowing a single thing.
'Gomen, Tsukki. I'll miss you'
