I can't conceal it, don't you see, can't you feel it? (I love you, I do I do,)

Chapter 2: What a beautiful wedding

Summary:

Me, making the title of everything I write after lyrics from any song? More likely than you think.

So yeah, this is the wedding, I felt like it would be kinda dry if I didn't add it, bc 'I do' y'know.

Umm No One dies, so that's amazing. Hope you enjoy!!

Notes:

Me? Writing over 5k words about an ABBA song? More likely than you think.

Chapter Text

Jim took small, calculated breaths, counting in his head as he stared at himself in the mirror. 1..2..3.. 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬.

"Okay Lads, we've got a couple minutes left, hurry it up!" He heard Scotty say through the door, and he sniffed slightly as his breaths were shortened. As his eyes began to water, Bones muttered under his breath.

"Jim, calm yourself down! Sulu just did your eye shadow!" Bones said as he came and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Sorry, sorry, I'm just nervous." He said.

"Jim, you two already got married once, this is the same, but... Different." Bones said.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. It's Jim and Spock's fucking wedding day. The day they are officially married in the eyes of the governent legally, and are at the farthest part of their relationship ever. Sure, they got the official Vulcan wedding a month or so ago, and Jim was equally nervous, but he is overwhelmed.

It was the setting of his dreams. Yellow Vulcan and blue Terran flowers, inside the beautiful church his mother and father got married in, just enough seating where all of the most important people in his life could see him become one with the man of his dreams- hell, 𝘛'𝘱𝘢𝘶 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 on being there, even though she hasn't left Vulcan in a couple of decades. It was honestly very heartwarming, but it made Jim's hands shake like leafs in the wind.

He felt like he was very much unprepared and like a little boy and did he even bring his vows?- he checked his chest pocket, it's there- and that he would make a fool out of himself.

"Shit, Bones. What the fuck am I doing?" He turned to his friend, and Bones sighed once again. "Is this a mistake? Am I going to regret this- will 𝘩𝘦 regret this?!" He was really starting to panic now, and Bones took both of his shoulders.

"Hey, hey, look at me." He made Jim's eyes land on his. "Breathe." Jim took a deep breath and nodded. Okay, calm down, he told himself.

After he felt stable enough, he turned his attention back to Bones. "I get it, Jim. I too got the pre-wedding jitters, was nervous beyond anything, I was stuttering and could barely say any words." He looked away for a second, sort of lost in thought. He sighed.

He looked back to Jim after a while and shook his head. "Plus, you two are 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴, Tee' high' la-"

"T'hy'la."

"That's what I said. Anyway, if you end up making a fool out of yourself, I honestly think the worst thing that could happen is Spock falling more in love with you."

Jim looked up to Bones and smiled, wiping his eye carefully, minding the golden makeup there. "Thanks, Bones."

"Ah, don't mention it. You good?"

He nodded.

Bones looked at his watch. "Are you ready to marry that Bastard?"

Jim chuckled. "As I'll ever be."

Jim played with his fingers as Bones turned to the other men in the room. "Alright, boys, lets go," he shouted, and Jim let Scotty and Bones lead them to the hall where the ceremony is being held.

How it's set up is that the grooms people will walk in together at the same time and go to there respective places at the alter, then Spock and Jim will walk down together with Winona and Sarek.

It was beautiful, Jim would probably cry before even getting to the alter, if he was being honest.

For all the tention that was between Spock and his father, Sarek was all in and supportive of the wedding, doing most of the planning for both of them. Jim could have sworn he saw Sarek smile when they broke the news to him.

Amanda helped as well, mostly with the outfits and cakes, and trying to reason with her Bondmate when he thought of something ridiculous. She would be waiting at the end of the isle to give Spock away. She of course full on sobbed when they broke the news to her.

Jim took a deep breath and let his Grooms People walk in front of him while he waited in the back, which made Bones in front of him. They were all in dark green dresses and suits, beautiful and not too obnoxious, and Jim smiled at the thought Amanda put into this with him.

When he had finally looked away from his Grooms People, he was playing with his engagement ring, lost in thought. "Bones,"

"Hm?"

"Do you have the rings?"

"Oh no, Jim, I must have forgotten them on Vulcan- yes, Jim, I do." He huffed, patting his chest pocket in emphasis.

"Jeez, no need for ice." Jim mumbled his reply.

Jim sucked in a small gasp when he saw Spocks Grooms People walk down the other side of the hall, all dressed the same, yet a stark contrast to his. Jim's were loud and joking around and laughing, while they all were smiling softly and whispering amongst each other. He was grateful they were; he knew how overwhelmed Spock was with sound.

He could catch a faint glimps of his T'hy'la and smiled wide.

𝘏𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳.

𝘚𝘩𝘩.

𝘏𝘦𝘺, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳?

𝘞𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨; 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥.

𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯?

𝘏𝘶𝘴𝘩.

He could see the tips of his ears darken from where he was, and he couldn't smile wider but he did. He was in fact, looking down to the ground, clearly concentrated, hands folded together infront of him. It was too adorable.

𝘊𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘳, 𝘈𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘮.

𝘖𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵?

𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.

𝘏𝘮𝘮 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦.

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘣𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.

Jim quickly looked away after that. He could feel his loves amusement through their bond.

Speaking of Sarek, he could see him walk towards his son, and stood by his right. They talked in hushed voices over where they were, and he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, Jimmy," Winona said. He smiled to his mother. She was in a dress too, she looked amazing.

He and his mother had also had a strained relationship. While she was up in space for all of his childhood, he was stuck with Frank. It was terrible, and he blamed her for a long time. It put a rift between them. But after a while, he began to realize that she did her best, and she couldn't help anything that happened. He forgave her. It's still weird between them, while they try to rebuild their mother-son relationship, but it's getting there.

He hugged her tightly, and he heard her sniff.

"Ma, no crying," he said with a watery laugh.

She shook her head. "I know I know, I'm just so so happy, Jimmy. So proud." She tried to lightly dab her tears away, and Jim wiped his own as softly as he could.

She pulled away and held his arms in her hands tightly. She had a huge smile, and he couldn't help but giggle.

"You're beautiful, Jim." She said.

"Thank you, Ma."

Scotty walked up to get everyones attention.

"Alright. It's about time now, ready?" He asked, looking at his watch.

Everyone nodded, and Scotty started opening the old doors to let the Grooms People in. The line slowly moved forward, as the attendants walked together down the isle and went to their respective places at the ends. The more the line went down, the closer he was to Spock.

Winona looped his arm into hers and squeezed it.

"This is it." She whispered.

"Yeah," he replied shakily. His legs felt like jelly the closer Spock got, until eventually Bones and Nyota walked down the isle together, and there he was.

He was gorgeous. He had a beautiful blue matte eyeshadow, and black wing eyeliner, a light green blush dusting his cheeks and ears- some makeup, some real- and a beautiful shade of red lipstick. His suit was formfitting, a black one like his and the yellow Vulcan flower in his chest pocket. It showed off all the right places, and made him look so mature yet so young.

Oh God, oh Jeez.

"𝘏𝘪." Jim whispered to him.

"Hello, Ashal-veh." He said just as quiet, and finally looked up at him. Those beautiful deep dark chocolate eyes. Jim realized all these colors made them even brighter and deeper.

Jim felt his lip wobble through his smile, and he sniffed when he saw his lovers own returning eye-smile.

𝘏𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘯.

𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

Jim let out a small giggle, and took Spock's offered arm with his right. With the small contact they had, even through the clothes, he could feel Spock's affection and love and excitment and nervnousness through their bond.

He returned the sentiment with a smile. "Any second thoughts?" He asked as quietly as he could.

"𝘕𝘰𝘯𝘦."

Jim took a deep breath and stared ahead to the alter, where Bones, Nyota, and the priest waited.

They took a step forward together, and all rose and watched as the couple walked towards the place they become one. Each step made it harder and harder for Jim to hold back either a cry or a laugh with happiness, until they are at the end of the isle, and Sarek helped Amanda stand so she could hug the both of them, and Sarek mearly nodded, so much pride on his face that Jim thought was impossible for the Vulcan.

They did the same with Winona, and she kissed Jim's temple before going to sit down. Jim and Spock walked up the tiny stairs to the top and turned to each other, hands clasped together in the middle. Scandalous, he knows, but Amanda had had a long talk with Spocks Vulcan relatives that it was a human tradition and politely asked that their gasps were as silent as they could manage. Jim almost giggled at the memory.

When the people all sat, the priest began to speak. Though they aren't really religious, Spock's family being Jewish mostly, they had both agreed they wanted a simple traditional wedding, with a priest. They of course cut out a lot of stuff, like the "in the eyes of god" ideas (which a lot of the lines had.), but either than that it was as less religious as possible.

"We gather here today to witness the marriage between Spock Greyson and James T. Kirk," and the rest is a blur. He wasn't paying attention because oh God, oh Jeez his husband is right there, you know? The beautiful, imperfect, genius, amazing Spock that Jim was lucky enough to say was his soulmate.

"The vows?" He heard, and he didn't process it. He was staring too intensely into Spock's eyes. "James?"

"Huh? Oh- shi- sorry." He awkwardly pulled the paper out of his pocket and regretfully pulled his hands away from his loves. Fuck Vows. He smiled sheepishly when he heard some soft laughter.

He cleared his throught.

"Spock,

When I met you the first thought that came to my mind was 'wow, he's tall'." He could hear a small chorus of chuckles through the crowd.

"My second thought was that you and I would be great friends.

During that time, I was dealing with many things, things I didn't think I could talk about, or could truly think over, and I tried to put a smile on my face and stayed determined. For my team, for everyone. You saw past that, Spock." He was looking down at his paper, not looking at Spock, but he could feel the raw love and devotion through their bond.

"Whether it's when you make sure I didn't eat anything I'm allergic to or just a game of chess, I felt like you saw me. It was a feeling I was unfamiliar with. It terrified me. I knew that you were Vulcan, and that you couldn't show emotion, even going as far as to say you would never feel the emotions I felt for you, and I thought that you could see my appreciation clear as day.

It wasn't until I was crying on your shirt when you told me you loved me that I realized 'this guy doesn't know'.

This guy doesn't know how much I see him, how I know what type of veggie sandwich he likes, or how I know how cute he gets when he focuses on a game of chess, or that I could read all of his emotions just by his eyebrows alone."

He finally looked up at Spock, his husband, one and only, because he memorized the next lines. What he saw was his beautiful lover, eyes filled with unshed tears and a ghost of a smile on his usually stoic face. He smiled, and said in a wobbily watery voice,

"I love you Spock, and I promise that for the rest of my days I will show you how much I know you, and I vow to grow with you and discover new things about ourselves together. And I vow to watch The Wizard Of Oz with you for the rest of of my... Saturdays. I'm with you through Thick and Thin, T'hy'la. Ashau nash-veh tu." He felt a tear roll down his face when he finished, and the raw emotions he- they both were feeling made him dizzy. Jim didn't know where his emotions started and where Spocks ended.

He could vaguely hear some sniffling and gasping from others, but he couldn't hear them over the overwhelming urge and need to kiss husband. He resisted though. Fuck waiting.

𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧, 𝘈𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘺𝘢.

Jim took a deep breath and nodded.

After a while, the priest said to Spock, "Your vows?" And Spock nodded, not letting go of Jim's hands and looking deep into his eyes.

"James T. Kirk.

We met approximately five point six seven years ago aboard the USS Enterprise after Captain Christopher Pike stepped down. At the time of the event I was sure that our relationship would be strictly professional, seeing as all of the ones I had after I joined the Federation were. I was wrong.

It started out with lunch, when you asked if I wanted your vegetables because you would not eat them. Then it became evenings playing chess, and your irrational playing strategies successfuly beating my more logical ones. After a while I realized we were very compatible. But the longer our companionship lasted, the more I realized there was more to it than compatibility. I found myself enjoyed your company, thoughts and conversations, and your aesthetically pleasing features." Jim smiled a little and snorted when Spock looked confused when he heard the crowd laugh lightly.

𝘒𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦, He urged on.

Spock nodded.

"I realized that my heart beated faster just by the mear proximity of you." Jim hitched a breath at that.

"It was mostly very overwhelming for me, but with the longer we had our friendship, the lesser it was. Others began to notice my affection for you as well, and it was very scandalous, seeing as a Vulcan I was showing so much emotion, but it got to a point where it didn't matter anymore, and I was sure you knew. I was wrong." Spock's hands tightened around Jim's, and he could feel the utter and undying devotion and worship coming from Spock.

"You were very taken aback, it was honestly shocking, but I knew that your human emotions needed more show of affection than the signals I gave. I was sure you didn't share the affections I had. I was wrong again.

James T. Kirk, you love me. You were the first and only true friend I had, you cared for me and thought of me, in ways I didn't know where allowed. You showed me different sides of me I didn't know I had. You are my T'hy'la, we were made to be together, to be one with each other in every way possible."

Jim felt another tear roll down his cheek as he saw and heard and felt all the emotions Spock felt for him, and he smiled through it.

Spock took a steadying breath and blinked a few times before continuing.

"I vow to love you with the same intensity you love me, Jim. I vow to take care of you and listen to you and clean after you when you leave crumbs everywhere. I vow to be by your side and to call Dr. McCoy when you injure yourself, and be there when their are injuries that stitches couldn't heal. And I vow to stay out of the kitchen when you are cooking. I vow to be the T'hy'la you deserve, Jim. Taluhk nash-veh k’dular."

Jim is sure everyone is crying at this point. He could see and hear sniffles and 'aw's and may or may not have heard Bones mutter "I'm not crying you are." Under his breath. Spock let a tear roll down his cheek, and he is the most beautiful thing, huh? Even when he's crying. Jim couldn't stop the tears that streamed down his cheeks and oh LORD he wanted to kiss Spock so bad.

𝘖𝘩, 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘤𝘬.

"Oh, S𝘱𝘰𝘤𝘬." He whispered. He momentarily took his hand from his and lifted it over his shoulder, where Bones handed him a napkin and he tried to wipe his tears. Lifting it to Spock's cheek as well. He's sure his makeup is ruined at this point. He doesn't care.

The priest wiped his eye. "That was very beautiful, Spock, Jim."

"Thank you," Spock muttered, and Jim realized that Spock always thanked the person whenever they complimented him. No matter what. It was intoxicating.

The priest then turned to Bones, "The rings?" He asked, and Bones wiped his face quickly before grabbing the box the rings are in. He handed the box to him, and he handed each respectful ring to Jim and Spock.

"Now, James, repeat after me,

I, James T. Kirk,"

"I, James T. Kirk,"

"Offer you this ring, as a symbol,"

"Offer you this ring, as a symbol,"

"Of our unbreakable bond."

"Of our.. Unbreakable bond." Jim's voice wavered, and he swallowed thickly.

"It is a reminder of my eternal faith, and unwavering dedication, (take his hand)"

"It is a reminder of my eternal faith, and unwavering dedication- 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥," he quickly took Spock's other hand and laughed awkwardly. Spock's eyes only softened. Shit, Bones was right.

"And I will cherish you forever. (Put his ring on.)"

"And I will cherish you forever." He sniffed and he smiled impossibly wider as he slid the golden band onto his finger, and oh God 𝘺𝘦𝘴.

The priest did the same with Spock, and even Spock barely held it together, he let a small smile out and Jim would have melted if he could. But he couldn't, because the love of his life had slipped the silver ring onto his finger, and Jim let a loud laugh-sob escape his lips.

"Should anyone present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." The priest said, and it was dead silent in the whole room. Jim held back snort and a sigh of relief.

"Now then, James. Do you take Spock Greyson as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I do. I do, I do, I do." He said eagerly, staring at Spock like he wanted to eat him.

"And do you, Spock Greyson, take James T. Kirk as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, for sickness and in health, till death do you part?"

"I do."

Jim felt him say it over and over again in his head and he buzzed from the feeling.

"I now pronounce you married, you may kiss the groom." The priest said, and Jim grabbed Spock's face and pulled him in and kissed the lights out of him. The love and emotion and devotion and serenity all washed over them in a tidal wave, and the room burst into flames with the roaring applause of their families. Clapping and screaming and happiness filled the air, and all Jim could think of was Spock. His T'hy'la. His husband, one and only. Ride or die.

Later on, after the wedding and they had gotten to the reception, had fun and cut the cake and holy shit did Sarek take a shot of hot chocolate?- Jim had rested his head against Spock's chest and had smiled. "I love you, I do, I do, I do, I do." He hummed, and Spock hummed along as they swayed to to the song only they could hear.

"And the moral of the story is to listen to ABBA, kids. And with that, I bid you adieu. Q out."

The End.
