Chapter Text

The next morning came, Sig was still a little groggy from yesterday, but he felt lighter. He was still unsure of what to really say to Raffina or Klug… What they did really hurt his feelings. He got out of the door from his house, and today was lovely. The trees were a very vibrant green, and the sky was a dreamy blue. It was really nice.

As soon as Sig was on his way to Primp Magic School, a familiar face ran up to him and gave him a big hug. It was Amitie.

“Oh, Sig! I’m so happy to see you!!” Amitie beamed. Sig returned the hug, enjoying it while it lasted.
—-
“Sig, I owe you an apology for what occurred yesterday.” Klug stated. “I didn’t know you were overwhelmed and I’ll try to be better at how I approach… My witty comebacks.”

Sig scoffed lightly, “Glasses, just be aware of your volume…” He said in his usual monotone voice. Truth was, all the yelling from yesterday’s battle was the main factor that Sig's sensory issues overwhelmed him. Although, he could go without all the back talk.

“Very well then.” Klug walked away shortly after, not having much else to say. Sig smiled a little, it was a nice change of pace from how yesterday went.

Raffina walked up to Sig, with a neutral look on her face, “How I acted yesterday was very unlady-like. I’ll try and keep my volume down whenever need be. I’m sorry, Sig.” She looked down at the ground.

“It’s okay, Raplina… Just keep it down.”

“Watch it, bug brain.” Raffina lightheartedly joked as she walked away and into the classrooms. Class was about to begin, so it made sense. Sig had to get there too!
—-
As soon as class was over, Ms. Accord took Sig to the side, to have a little chat before he left school for the day.

“Sig, I was thinking about some solutions to your problem… And I got you some headphones to try. They’re noise canceling, so if things get a little too hectic in the classroom, these could be of assistance.”

“Take good care of them, nya!” Popoi added. Sig didn’t know what to say, but his antennae twitched a couple of times. He put the headphones in his book bag, those could come into good use.
—-
It was later that day, the evening. Sig and Amitie agreed to meet up near the park. As soon as Sig stepped foot into the grass, Amitie was nearby.

“Hey!! Sig! Over here!!” Amitie half-shouted, waving her arms around. Sig smiled widely at the sight of her. She helped him so much the other day. She was always so helpful regardless of the circumstances.

Sig ran to Amitie to greet her, his antennae twitching as he did. “Hello, Ami.” His voice remained monotone, but he felt happy. It was a great contrast to the other day.

“What’d Ms. Accord give you before you came here? Oooh, I bet it was really cool!!” Amitie bounced up and down in excitement.

Sig took the headphones out of his book bag and showed them to Amitie. “She gave me these. They block out noise.” Sig explained. Amitie’s eyes widened significantly.

“Woahhhh! So it just yanks the sound out of the world! That could come in handy!” She giggled a little. Though, her expression fell a little.

“Have you been feeling better, Sig?” She asked in a slightly more concerned tone than before.

Sig nodded, “Yeah, things were patched up with Ragamuffin and Glasses. Just hoping they stay to their word.” He sat down in the grass, admiring the sunset.

Amitie joined him, sitting next to him. Sig took the chance to nuzzle her. Ever since they started dating, Sig has shown several different ways of affection. While words aren't his love language, physical affection definitely was. Amitie accepted the exchange and started playing with his hair a bit.

“Well, I’m glad you were able to talk to them! Communication is always important!” Amitie chirped. She never enjoyed having faulty friendships.

“Agreed.” Sig said, in a more drowsy tone. He was starting to get very sleepy. Being able to spend the evening with his girlfriend eased his tensions, and he hopes to have a better time at Primp Magic School going forward.

“I love you, Amitie…” Sig said, before slowly falling asleep, murmuring quiet snores.

Amitie couldn’t help but laugh, this was a common occurrence, but she didn’t mind. If he was happy, so was she.

“Oh, I love you too Sig.”
