Live, Kiana
They say when you gaze into the abyss long enough it stares right back at you.
Yet when Kiana gazes longingly in the blank space all she feels is the warmth bubbling inside her body and the rejuvenated will to hold on just a little while longer.
Kiana rose from her sleep in the middle of the night.
A common occurrence since her return from the stupidly long vacation on Moon.
Her legs dangled on the edge of the bed. Mind muddled with thoughts and the shadows of past.
She released a sigh and silently walked out of the room, closing the door with a soft creak. A habit she took up while running away from the world.
‘ Coffee.’ Her brain says with a tired drawl, dragging out some life in the so very blunt blue orbs.
She walked towards the coffee machine, whisking out a cup and started preparing for the caffeinated drink. Might as well stay awake if her past wasn’t going to let her live it down.
The soft whirr of the machine was a pleasant company in the otherwise chilly and quite ambience of the place.
It shuts itself off with soft clunk and the herrscher takes up the cup in both her hands before waltzing in the living room.
Making herself comfortable on the couch, she looks out of the window. Knees brought to her chest and the half empty cup sitting on the counter near the television.
Her eyes slipped down, all she could see was darkness and-
Cold
Crack

Destroye-
“ Kiana...” A soft voice breaks her out of the self-loathing thoughts.
She didn’t even know about the tears dripping down from her glassy cerulean eyes nor the pitiful sob shaking her whole being.
Mei wanders around the couch and seated herself next to her girlfriend.
Her muscles didn’t budge a little when the weight of her love fell on her shoulders, her eyes didn’t wet when the sobbing continued nor did her arms wrap itself around the broken knight to offer some sort of comfort. It would have all been the truth if her heart didn't ache from seeing her love in this state.
The almost silent humming from the raven-head left Kiana in a trance like state. The tune was a familiar one. An old one.
The tune was from a time when they were still training to be the best of what they could be.
It left her with a feeling of warmth, of safety and of home.
She didn’t know when her mind stumbled into a peaceful slumber even with the caffeine pumping through her body.
Mei carried her back to the bed where Hua was watching her like a hawk. Sharp blue eyes taking in the contours of Kiana’s face and the still dampened eyes of the Kaslana.
They weaved around each other skilfully. Placing the knight in the middle of the cuddle pile with limbs splaying around everywhere yet they couldn’t be more comfortable than the position they settled in.
