Chapter Text
"So, when are you going to drink from me?" Sherlock breaks the silence.
They are sitting on Sherlock’s kitchen table, each of them eating their own meal. It took a while for William to start feeling comfortable to drink blood in front of him, but now they have reached a point where they can sit like this and ‘eat’ together.
William blinks in surprise, most likely not expecting this question right now. He closes the bag he was drinking and puts it on the table before he asks, “Why would I drink from you?"
"Are you saying my blood is not good enough for you?" Sherlock immediately replies, just because he likes teasing his partner.
"You know that's not what I mean.” William lets out an exasperated sigh.
"Okay, I know, but I told you I want you to bite me, why don't you?" he insists.
They’ve only had this conversation once before, about a month after they started dating. Back then, William immediately refused when Sherlock brought it up without giving much of an explanation and Sherlock let it go, thinking that maybe it was too soon. But now it has been more than half a year since they got into a relationship, so he decided it’s an appropriate time to ask again.
"I don't want to hurt you," his boyfriend offers as an explanation.
Sherlock rolls his eyes. "You're not gonna hurt me. It'll be consensual. Consensual bloodsucking."
"Please never call it that again." William crinkles his nose.
"Come on, Liam, I know you want to~" Sherlock doesn’t plan to give up. If he really didn’t want to, Sherlock wouldn’t insist. But since this, as most problems in their relationship, has to do with William being afraid of hurting him, then he knows that he needs to give his boyfriend reassurance.
"If I hurt you — "
"You won't,” Sherlock interrupts him before he goes into his usual overthinking mode. “I know you'll be careful and I trust you. It's not like I'm telling you to starve yourself for two weeks and then try to take a bite off me."
"Sherly, we've talked about this before. I don't think it's a good idea,” William insists. Why do both of them have to be so stubborn?
"I do."
It's William's turn to roll his eyes.
"No offense but you don't always have the brightest ideas."
"You're just jealous that I'm still young and full of energy,” Sherlock teases him. It may be true that he has made a lot of questionable decisions in his life, but he also has really amazing ideas often enough, thank you very much.
"Maybe you shouldn't have chosen to date an old man then,” William bites back, suppressing a smile.
"Don't call yourself an old man, that's weird," Sherlock replies, making gagging noises.
"But technically I am a hundred and — "
"I get it, I get it, my boyfriend is geriatric," Sherlock stops him. "But I still want him to drink from me."
"Why are you assuming that you'll like it?" William is trying to use a different method now. If he knows Sherlock enough then he should realize that it’s futile.
"James said that a lot of people enjoy it in that context," Sherlock has a response ready. James had brought it up unprovoked less than two weeks after their first date.
"Why are you trusting James? He hasn't been with anyone else ever since he started dating Eve during his first year as a vampire." It seems like his lovely boyfriend has started running out of arguments.
"I trust him. And you know I'm a curious person, I want to find out for myself," Sherlock says casually. It’s true that he is curious, but he is also already convinced that it’s going to be sexy. No one is allowed to kink shame him.
William sighs dramatically before he mumbles, "Okay."
"Okay?" Sherlock asks excitedly. That was quicker than he imagined.
"Yes, but only if you promise me that you're going to tell me to stop if you don't like it."
"I promise." Sherlock is more than willing to comply.
The day that William finally decides it's safe to try it out, Sherlock is almost vibrating with enthusiasm as they move to his bedroom after they get home from their date.
"You are far too excited about this than a normal person would be," William points out, taking off his jacket and hanging it at Sherlock’s desk chair.
"Hey, my boyfriend is a vampire, I need to take full advantage of it,” Sherlock replies unabashedly.
William is used enough to his antics at this point that he just shakes his head and leans down to take off his shoes. By the time he stands up and looks at him again, Sherlock has already taken off his shirt and made himself comfortable on the bed leaning against the bed frame.
"So you won't get blood on it," he justifies, following William's gaze on his bare chest.
"Right," William replies, looking a bit distracted.
“Come here.” Sherlock beckons him over. His partner complies easily, climbing on the bed and sitting on his usual position on his lap. Sherlock doesn’t waste a moment to take William’s shirt off too.
“We don’t want to get your shirt dirty either,” he offers as an explanation even though William doesn’t seem to mind it one bit.
Sherlock really loves playing with William’s hair while they are kissing, so he raises one of his hands and buries it in his boyfriend’s hair, while he places the other on William’s waist, lightly pinching the soft skin there. William is the one who leans down and kisses him first. He starts by lightly pecking his lips a couple of times, like he usually does to tease him, until Sherlock gets impatient and uses the hand he has on his hair in order to stop him from trying to lean back again. He feels William briefly smile against his mouth before he gives in and finally kisses him properly.
A few moments later, a cold hand finds its way on Sherlock’s back, running up and down his spine, sending shivers all over his body. William had once asked if Sherlock minded that his natural body temperature is lower than that of a human’s, and while maybe it’s not exactly the most convenient thing for cuddles in the winter, Sherlock can’t say he doesn’t enjoy it most of the time. His own body runs warm, so the contrast with William’s cold body is exhilarating. He desperately needs more of this feeling.
“Come closer.” He briefly breaks the kiss to say.
William doesn’t need to be told twice. He quickly moves closer to Sherlock on his lap, close enough that their chests come in full contact, making Sherlock involuntarily groan. They continue kissing even more hungrily, hands traveling all over each other’s body, until Sherlock remembers what the plan for today is and decides they should probably try that out before things escalate more.
He gently puts his hand on William’s chest where his heart should be, now already used to the lack of a heartbeat greeting him, and pushes him back slightly before he tells him, “How about why try that now?”
William stares at him in a daze for a few moments, before the realization comes to him and he nods.
“Please stop me if you don’t feel good.”
“I will,” Sherlock hurries to reassure him, giving him a quick peck at the corner of his mouth.
“Okay, I’ll go ahead then.” They have talked about this enough that, thankfully, it seems that William seems to trust Sherlock’s words easily this time.
His partner caresses the left side of his neck for a few moments, before he leans down and gently sucks on the skin there. Sherlock feels himself trembling with anticipation. He is usually quite impatient when William chooses to take things slow, but he concludes that this time it may be best not to urge William to hurry and let him do this at his own pace instead. He wraps his arms tightly around his boyfriend’s body, trying to use the contact to calm himself down.
Without a warning, there is a light sting on his neck. A gasp escapes Sherlock’s mouth, before he tightens his arms around William even more. There are a few seconds where he can’t decide if he likes this sensation or not, but once the initial shock has subsided and he relaxes, there is a euphoric feeling flooding his brain.
Even though Sherlock understands the science behind this phenomenon, he doesn’t think it would feel quite this good if the person biting him was someone other than William. Compared to when lady Moriarty tried to violently drink from him, this is a completely different experience. Sherlock never wants it to end. In fact, he moves one of his hands to the back of William’s head, wanting to keep him there. He thinks he can get high on this feeling of euphoria combined with the usual pleasure he gets just by being intimate with his partner.
Much to Sherlock’s disappointment, William extracts his fangs from Sherlock’s neck not too long after, giving a light lick to the wound before he leans back and looks at him, probably searching for signs of discomfort. Sherlock is about to open his mouth and complain about this ending too soon when he gets distracted by the sight of William’s face; eyes blood red and fangs poking out of his mouth. Before William can say anything, Sherlock leans forward and kisses him. He’s not even all that bothered by the bitter aftertaste that his own blood has left on William’s mouth, too immersed in all the feelings overflowing him.
They keep kissing until William accidentally cuts Sherlock’s lip with his fang and he involuntarily hisses.
“I’m sorry,” his boyfriend rushes to say.
“It’s fine, it just stings a little,” he reassures him, smiling softly. William looks so beautiful like this. Sherlock really can’t understand how William was ever worried that he wouldn’t like him when he stops hiding how his real vampire form looks like.
“Your lip is bleeding.” William pouts. Sherlock wants to kiss him again.
“Well, I happen to know someone who is into drinking blood,” he replies with a wink.
William rolls his eyes but he still leans forward and licks the wound on his lip. Sherlock is about to open his mouth to lead him into a kiss again, but William moves back again quickly, most likely predicting Sherlock’s plan.
“Tell me how you feel first. Do you feel dizzy at all?” he asks, a hint of worry in his voice. Sherlock comes to the unfortunate realization that he has already retracted his fangs, although his eyes haven’t gone back to a normal color yet.
“A tiny bit. But honestly not more than I usually feel when we kiss,” he replies honestly.
“That’s good then, I guess,” William responds, nodding. Sherlock is glad to see the concern disappear from his face.
“So, is my blood tasty?” Sherlock asks, raising an eyebrow teasingly.
“Hmmm I’ve had better,” William responds, deciding to play along.
“Hey!” Sherlock protests, pretending to be offended.
His boyfriend just chuckles and leans forward to kiss him again.
