Gildarts is back, passing through, and Lucy pulls him aside to show off the new technique she’s been working on – a complex combination of Leo’s star dress and her water magic – and he tells her about everyone he’s encountered during his travels.
She hears about her friends, but doesn’t feel guilty, or less than, or left behind- she just feels happy. She tells Gildarts this, finally not cagey or angry at all, and he looks so proud of her.
Lucy pulls him in close, hugging him tight, and thanks him quietly.
He says he’s glad, and promises to visit soon.
