Kaeya never thought about anyone. No one around him. Nothing. Not until he met Albedo. He’d never been close with the other captains the way he was with the blonde.
Once, when they met, the bluenette had asked the alchemist for drinks. And of course Albedo had respectfully replied with a no, since work is important. But soon enough, when the Calvary captain had asked one last time, he took him up on the offer. They actually had a pretty good time that night. At least he thinks so.
Back then, Kaeya didn’t know Albedo well enough to see if any of the feelings were being returned. And even if they weren’t, he’d still fight for the chief alchemist till this day. He stands by that. And forever will.

Kaeya’s pov:
Where could he be? Did he just..leave? Maybe he’s not even on Dragonspine anymore. What if the fatui have him? I swear if they lay a hand on him-
“Kaeya! Hold up! We can’t get spilt up on this mountain. Not until we have made sure Albedo is safe.” Jean sounded confident. I wonder how. No part of this was okay. Him. Being gone. Lost. It wasn’t right.
I can feel the cold winds of Vindagnyr running across my face, down my neck, blowing my hair to the side. My legs are beginning to tremble. I hope they don’t give up to the snow. I need to keep going. I need to find hi-
I stopped in my tracks.
My eyes widened.
My legs stopped moving but only for a moment.
I felt tears forming in the corners of my eyes.
I began to stumble towards him a little more. The motionless, ice cold body of the chief alchemist laying in the snow.
“JEAN I- I FOUND HIM!!”
Jean must’ve heard the fear in my voice. She started running faster than before. “I’m coming as fast as I can!!”
My voice began to tremble as I ran towards him with everything I had. He can’t be dead. We didn’t take that long. What could’ve hurt him? Why didn’t Sucrose hear him?
I sank to the snowy ground and wrapped my arms around him. “Albedo…come on…wake up..” I shook his helpless body hoping for a reaction. Nothing. Come on Albedo you can’t leave me too. Please.
Wake up.
Please.
I can’t loose you. Not when I just got you.
Come on. Wake up….
“Kaeya how is he- oh…” Jean stood behind me. I could feel her eyes resting on me and Albedo.
A tear slipped from my eye and down my cheek. It then rested on the blondes cheek.
Wake up..
