Chapter Text

As in right now Tecchou and Jouno were walking together, Tecchou just a few steps behind Jouno. They went through the back alley leading to the shop. After Tecchou had agreed to spend the night at his they had sat in a comfortable silence until Jouno smoked a second another cigarette. Now here they were, making their way back to the shop. A strange feeling enfolded Jouno with each step he took. This was the first time he would ever have a friend over -they weren’t exactly friends but still- Tecchou was coming to his house, not to his coffee shop. It felt somehow intimate. Tecchou in the other hand was calmly followin him, keeping up with his above average walking speed.
Even as he walked through dangerous alleys at nighttime, Tecchou was as airy and aloof as he had been when they fist saw each other. He blindly followed Jouno, which was a bit ironic as he was the blind one. Even though Tecchou appeared to be physically present, his mind was in a completely different place. Jouno too wasn’t bothered by the silence. It wasn’t awkward but rather comfortable. They walked back to back for about half an hour before they arriving to the shop.
Jouno opened the door, then ell chiming in greeting.
“I think I have an extra futon upstairs in the closet.”
“This place has an upstairs?” Asked Tecchou, seemingly awed.
“Yep! I live there”
Tecchou let out a silent oh as Jouno opened the door behind the counter and let him through the narrow corridor heading towards his flat. The place was surprisingly bare, given somebody lived there. The studio like flat consisted of a bathroom, a stove on top of a small oven, a wardrobe and a single futon, lying flat in the middle of the room. It seemed moderately organized but Tecchou couldn’t tell if it was just the lack of furniture that made it seem so. There was a singular window in the whole room that was looking out on the desolate streets. The room had a feeling of solitude to it, as if it was completely isolated from the outside world.
After Tecchou entered the room Jouno closed the door leading to the staircase. He noticed Tecchou was standing still beside him, probably inspecting his room with curious eyes. Trying his best not to let out a giggle, Jouno made his way to the wardrobe. He knew exactly where every object was placed as he had lived in this room all his life. His disability didn’t hinder him in the slightest as long as it was a place as familiar as his room.
But when he opened the wardrobe and reached out to where the futon was supposed to be, his hand was met with empty space. He was quite sure that was where he had last placed it but it was gone. Where would Tecchou sleep? He was not much concerned about where the futon had went. After all, he did sometimes misplace some items whilst drunk, rarely so but he did. What worried Jouno was the explanation he would have to give Tecchou and where he would end up sleeping. He was the one who invited Tecchou to stay over in the first place, and now he had nothing to actually give him. Well, this was embarrassing. Damn, his drunk shenanigans. Jouno slowly turned around to look at Tecchou and calmly addressed the elephant in the room:
“Well, it seems the second futon has gone missing.” Tecchou, hearing Jouno offer this explanation with a sorry smile on his face, shrugged.
“Guess we’ll have to share.” Jouno froze. Perhaps it was from how casually Tecchou had stated the words or from how Tecchou did not seem to mind sharing a bed with a stranger. What? What was this guy implying? Tecchou being the socially awkward person he was, didn’t pick up on the look of sheer confusion on Jouno’s face.
“And you would be fine with that?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Thinking, Jouno came to the conclusion that no, he too didn’t have a problem with sharing the futon either. In fact, he had no idea what had caused his extreme reaction. Tecchou hadn’t had any secret intentions suggesting the arrangement. Jouno was sure Tecchou wouldn’t be able to hide it if he did. After thinking it over for a few seconds, Jouno could finally come up with a reply.
“Oh, sure.” He decided. There was not much that could go wrong from sleeping next to this a socially awkward teen.
He reached back into the closet, pulled out the only futon present and put it onto the floor.
Tecchou was cool with this whole sharing the bed ordeal, maybe too cool. Jouno was stressed for no reason.
As soon as he finished laying out the futon, Tecchou almost automatically climbed in. He must have been sleepy to climb right into bed in his outside clothes. But Jouno didn’t care, he also had nights where he was drunk and ended up passing out with his clothes on. It didn’t matter, he washed the sheets every time someone stayed over anyways. For less innocent reason though…
He decided there was no point in him changing into his night clothes when the other boy hadn’t bother. So he too got under the blanket. Because of how narrow the single person bed was, his back touched Tecchou’s when he lay down. However, Tecchou relaxed into the touch instead of moving away. From the pattern of breathing and slowing of the heart beats Jouno could tell the other was somehow already asleep. He must have been extremely tired to just pass out the moment his head hit the pillow. He hadn’t showed any signs of sleepiness at all on the way or perhaps Jouno had not noticed. Jouno decided there was no harm in sleeping as well.
