Chapter 2: ICY

Chapter Text

What now surrounded the ice witch was an environment familiar, yet completely foreign at the exact same time. “Ugh, am I on earth?” she mumbled under her breath. She looked down to see that she wasn’t her witch form, but in her civilian form. An icy blue crop top with a flared collar, a mini skirt of the same color, and knee high boots. She looked around and saw a small and cozy town, trees, shops, and neighborhood kids playing in a park. She soon realized exactly where she was.

Earth, more specifically….

Gardenia.

The Home of Bloom, her worst enemy.

She scowled at that. But soon, it would become way worse for her.

“Hello, there Icy,” said a familiar voice. It was Faragonda. “Why am I in Gardenia?” the witch questioned. “As stated earlier, this is classified. What I can tell you is you and your sisters have been separated. Darcy’s at Red Fountain with the Specialists and Stormy’s at Alfea with the Winx.” “Stormy’s with the Winx?” Icy said in between laughter. ” She cackled and said, “Good luck with that!” Faragonda gave a look then continued. “What?! With Bloom’s parents? UGH! How long will I be on this wretched planet anyway? Is that classified as well?” she joked. “Actually no. You will stay on Earth for at least a couple months,” the headmistress explained. You will be staying with Bloom’s earth parents, Mike and Vanessa.” “What?! With Bloom’s parents? UGH!” “Now Icy, you must abide by their rules. I’ve already told them your location to meet you. They’ll be here soon. We’ll be watching you three from Magix. Good Luck!”

Headmistress Faragonda disappeared, leaving Icy alone in an alley. Icy rolled her eyes and groaned. Just the thought of be on earth for months was sickening. Not to mention with her sworn enemies’ parents. “This is the worst,” she muttered, “ Why do I have to be on this stupid planet anyway.” Then, something clicked. She smirked. “Wait, this could be useful.” Her newest idea is piecing together in her brain. “I could get information on Bloom and use that against her.” She snickered. “Man, I’m a genius,” she said. Icy sighed as she slid down a wall. Her eyes wandered. The smell of donuts and cleaning supplies overflowed her, being in between a donut shop and a strange store called “CVS”. Weird.

She heard something. Distant footsteps maybe. They were getting closer and closer, and soon, those footsteps turned to shadowy figures coming closer to her. She sprung up and got some ice magic ready. “You must be Icy, right?” an unknown voice wondered. It was a slightly tan skinned woman with short brown hair and hazel brown eyes. It was Vanessa, Bloom’s adoptive mother. “I’m Vanessa, This is my husband, Mike. She pointed to a man with light licked back blonde hair, sideburns, and dark blue eyes. “Hello.” He greeted.

“This’ll be fun.” Icy muttered, sarcastically.

“Alright, you’re coming with us.” Mike said, grabbing the Icy witch by the hand. It took every bit of restraint she had to not completely freeze his hand. ‘Where are these imbiciles take me?” She thought,” These humans think that they can control me? How quaint.” The husband-and-wife duo led the eldest sister to their cozy home above Vanessa’s flower shop.

What passed by Icy was definitely different than what she was used to. Shops, recreational facilities, restaurants; a small, cozy town. Everything Icy hated. The trio soon came across a flower shop, the windows filled with different kinds of flowers. After entering the shop, they went up a set of stairs to their final location.

Mike and Vanessa’s apartment.

To Icy, this place was sickening. It was colorful, calm, and small. She sighed as Mike let go. “Welcome to our humble abode. It may not be what you’re used to where you’re from, but it’s all we got. Come, sit down.” Icy sat on the couch as the couple debriefed, crossing her arms and putting her feet up on the table. “Now,” Vanessa started, “Headmistress Faragonda gave us some background on why you’re here which we can’t tell you. “ The middle-aged woman read off of a medium-sized piece of paper, “You’re in our house now, you follow our rules. If not, you and your sisters will be dealt with. How? We don’t know.” “That should be a warning to you.” “Vanessa, do you really think that that paper is supposed to scare me? You clearly don't know what I can do to you, earthling. ”

Mike calmly added, “Let me take it from here.” As he spoke, he turned to Icy. “Now, onto the rules. “Firstly, don’t be afraid to get comfortable. We have clothes here you can use in place of your usual outfit.” “You would probably get a lot of weird stares with that long cape and thigh-high boots of yours,” Vanessa added. “Secondly,” Mike continued, “No magic. Here, even the concept of magic is new to us. Who knows what may happen?” “And that means no freezing anyone or the plants in the shop, ok?” Vanessa questioned. NO MAGIC?” Icy protested. “What am I supposed to do? UGH” “Lastly,” Mike added, his eyes glancing at the paper and back to her, “ We want you to help us around the house and in the shop. Vanessa will teach you.”

“Trust me, “Vanessa reassured, sitting next to the witch. “It’ll be fun.” Icy replied, “That sounds like the opposite of fun.” “Well too bad,” she joked. “You’ll have to deal with it. Now, come to the shop with me.” Vanessa grabbed Icy’s hand and lead her downstairs.

This was surely going to be an interesting stay.
