Chapter Text
Boscha, still injured from her last battle, was patched up by Storious, who had kept his word after he offered to treat her injuries. “I never knew Lord Mercer had plans for both me and Yubel.” She tells Storious.
“He most certainly does, Boscha.”, replied Storious. “But that’s a story for another day…”
“I’m now wondering what kind of plans Lord Mercer has for me.” Boscha thought to herself. “I want to hear it.”
Meanwhile, in the Sword of Logos HQ, Amity had begun to wonder about Lorelai, who had been trapped within Avalon for the past 11 years. Emira naturally became worried for her sister, wanting to talk to her sister.
“Hey, mittens. Are you alright?”, asked Emira.
“Yeah, I’m just…wondering about Rory, that’s all.”, replied Amity. “I haven’t seen her in over 11 years.”
“I know that feeling, Amity. It feels heartbreaking to see your friends come and go. But I’m sure we could find her one day.” After saying this, Emira gave Amity a hug, giving her the comfort, she desperately needed.
As they were conversing, however, they were joined by Willow, who was invited by Gus to visit. “Hey, Willow. What are you doing here?”, asked Amity.
“It’s the Emperor’s Coven.”, replied Willow. “They would like to talk to you.”
Thoughts rushed down Amity’s mind. “What does the Emperor’s Coven have to do with all this?” She thought to herself. “And also, why me? I’ve been gone from Wonder World in years.”
“I’ll go answer the door if you want, Amity.”
“No, Willow, I’ll do it.”
Amity later answered the Coven knocking at the door. “So, what do you guys want?” She asked.
“Emperor Belos wants to see you, Mrs. Blight.”, replied one of the Coven Guards. “You have important matters to discuss.”
The mere mention of Belos immediately made Amity nervous. “I’ll be there later…”, replied Amity. “Crap, what am I gonna do? Last I heard from Belos, he took over Eliaxus.”
Meanwhile, Blaze and Roxy were training with the current wielder of Raimeiken Ikazuchi, Jack Daniels, in the training room within headquarters. “You know, Blaze, you’re not so bad yourself.”, remarked Jack.
“You too, Jack.”, replied Blaze. After they finished training, they joined up with Willow, who was outside waiting for them. “Hey, Willow, what’s going on?”
“Well, our leader here is having a bit of a breakdown.”, replied Willow. “Because the Emperor’s Coven showed up in our doorstep.”
“Why don’t you take Luz with you, Amity?”, asked Blaze. “She’ll accompany you over there.”
“Huh, why didn’t I think of that?”, replied Amity. “Thanks for the advice, Blaze.”
Once Amity and Luz left for the Capital, where the main castle is located, an arrow was shot from the window, carrying a message. It read:
“To the Sword of Logos, I would like to challenge the flame swordsman to a duel at sunset, which will take place in the Westmarter Arena. If he shall decline, the entire Sword of Logos HQ and everyone in it will be decimated. Regards, Boscha.”
“Wait, Boscha? I haven’t heard from her since the end of the Dark Spark War.”, remarked Willow. “Why would she send a message?”
This was when Boscha went and broke through the windows, in spite of her injuries. Holding her sword, she explains that she wanted to fight Blaze personally. However, …
“How are you going to fight me if you haven’t even recovered from your injuries?”, remarked Blaze. “I can’t even fight you in your current state.”
“You have a point, flame swordsman.”, replied Boscha. “Maybe we should reschedule.”
“I have a name, and that’s Blaze.” After this, Boscha leaves, giving him 3 days to prepare himself. Willow, wanting to know what’s going on, decided to go after Boscha.
Meanwhile, Sir Blake, who was on his usual strolls, was cornered by Terra Snapdragon, the head of the Plant Coven. “Terra Snapdragon?”, remarked Blake. “It’s been a while since we saw each other at the end of the Dark Spark War.”
“Why, hello Sir Blake, it’s been a while.” Terra then gives Blake a white fang necklace, which was found on the outskirts of the Palistrom Forest. “Eberwolf gave this to me as a gift, and I would like to pass this unto you.”
“Thank you, Terra.”, replied Blake. “I never thought I’d see you again after all this time.”
“Me too, Blake. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a garden to take care of.”
As Terra leaves, Blake began to wonder about his nephew, but was met by both Amity and Luz, who assured him that he was okay.
“Where are you going?”, asked Blake.
“Oh, we’re going to the Capital.”, replied Amity. “I’ve been personally asked by Emperor Belos to go there.”
“I’m coming with you.”
“Wait, why are you coming?”
“I have a bone to pick with Belos.”
With Blake coming along, they make their way to the Capital, where Belos is waiting. However, they soon learn that the Capital had been ransacked by the Megid, and to make matters worse, Legeiel is there, waiting for a Blight to fight him. Amity then challenged him to a battle, using a sword she plucked from the ground, ready to fight.
Unfazed by this, Legeiel attacked her. Luckily, Amity had indeed been training in swordsmanship long enough for her to be able to beat Legeiel at his own game. She would later be assisted by Luz, who had been training herself with Glyph Magic over the course of 11 years. However, Legeiel shrugged off their attacks like they were nothing. But Luz and Amity weren’t going down without a fight.
Luz distracted him using the Plant Glyph, which allowed her to trap Legeiel using the vines. This allowed Amity the perfect opportunity to strike him, but Legeiel transformed into his Megid form to counterattack. It didn’t help that he was far more powerful than either Luz or Amity, owning to years of combat experience.
While this forced the two into a corner, it did allow Amity to call backup. And soon enough, Blaze, Jacob, and Jack arrived just in time, fending off Legeiel as has was about to strike. This forced Legeiel into a retreat, but not before taunting Amity.
“You know, Amity Blight, you would’ve been just as good as your father, if you weren’t so weak!”, taunts Legeiel. “Face it, you will never be as strong as the people around you.”
This sent Amity into an enraged state, remembering what happened to her own mother, dying at the hands of Legeiel. “You killed my mother, Legeiel! One day, you’ll pay the price!”
As Legeiel escapes, the three swordsmen, as well as Luz and Amity, regroup together, and escort them to Castle Archaides, where Belos resides. Afterwards, they finally encounter the Emperor for the first time.
“Ah, Amity Blight. I was expecting you.”, remarked Belos.
“Tell me, Emperor, what do you want from me?”, asked Amity.
“It’s mainly about the Megid, and what we should do about them.”
“Really? I never expected that from you.”
“I’m still haunted by the memories of the Dark Spark War, after I lost Lorelai to that scumbag Andrew Mercer.”
“Don’t worry, I lost my mom in that war too, all because of Legeiel.”
“Tell me, what’s the plan?”
Meanwhile, as the three swordsmen return to HQ to prepare for Blaze’s duel with Boscha, Jack decided to stay behind, after he heard a rumbling in the bushes. After checking said bushes, he found a young man.
“Excuse me, but who are you?”, asked Jack.
“I’m Thomas Mercer, Andrew’s son.”, replied the young man.
“Nice to meet you. Anyway, I have to get going.”
As Jack was about to leave, Thomas grabbed his arm. “Wait! Let me come with you.”
“Why?”
“I need to get away from my dad!”
“You sure I could trust you?”
