“You know…” Draco turned to look at Harry. He never liked when he started off with those sorts of words. It always meant trouble for Draco, no matter what came after. “We’ve been thinking about it. I know neither of us has said anything, but I know we’ve both thought about it.”
Damn. Damn him, and damn Draco’s own curiosity. “And what, Harry, exactly have we thought about without even speaking about?”
“Well, you know.” Harry shrugged, and Draco watched him. He set his book aside to put more of his attention on his boyfriend.
Draco couldn’t help raising an eyebrow at him. “I’m afraid that I don’t know. You might have to fill me in.” Leaning over, he laid over Harry’s legs. “What exactly have we both thought about that you’re apparently speaking into existence?”
“Well. You know. About him. ” It wasn’t at all descriptive. And yet Draco knew exactly what Harry was talking about. And he very much wanted to go back to his book now.
“Really? And… what about him?”
Harry rolled his eyes a bit at him. Draco hated when he did that, acting like Draco was stupid, but even that couldn’t upset him when he looked so perfect. “C’mon, Draco, we both know you’re not an idiot.” Harry looked at their dorm room door, and Draco glanced over as well. It was shut tight, and seemed to be staying that way. For the moment, at least. “You know. How we feel about him. And how he feels about us. Or at least the way he acts.”
Draco sat up, shaking his head. “No. You’re completely insane. You know exactly who he is.”
“Yeah, I do. Which makes the way he acts make no sense. You realize he’s put himself in danger for us, right?” Draco hadn’t been cognizant of it, actually, before that moment, but he realized… Harry was right. And if that didn’t say anything…
“What do you propose we do about…” He waved his hand impatiently. “All this, then?”
Harry smirked at him. Damn that smirk. Damn Harry. “We could try actually talking to him, terrifying as all that is.”
Draco shuddered at the mere thought. Harry was right. It was terrifying. He was never very good at talking his feelings out, and, well… “You really think he’ll stand for that? Us trapping him to talk our feelings out?”
“Not one bit. That’s why we’ve gotta trap him, first.” Merlin curse the day he’d fallen for Harry Potter.
“Against my better judgment… I think I have to agree,” he finally consented, standing and pulling on Harry’s hands. “Come on, then. We may as well find him and lure him away now, rather than sitting on this and letting it eat away at us.”
Harry squeezed his hands, and Draco looked back at him. “You think he’ll say yes?”
Draco couldn’t make any promises, but… “I think he’ll hear us out.” That was the best they could hope for. Loving two people was so damn complicated. But hopefully the reward at the end was worth it.
