Summary
Notorious thief Hawks has a pretty simple life. He does what he wants when he wants, steals whatever interests him, pesters his little bird friend Tokoyami, and generally listens to absolutely no one but himself- The days he did nothing but follow orders were left behind the same instant he ditched the commission all those years ago.
But when Hawks is forced into a corner, the threat of a kidnapped Tokoyami's life held over his head, he has no choice but to steal a bejeweled locket for a powerful mob family. And when someone gets to the locket first, his best option is to team up with Detective Touya, as they try to catch the mastermind behind a string of murders, and get that locket back in time to meet the deadline.
Forced to work with an annoying(ly charming in an odd sort of way) cop, his past catching up to him quick, and a deadline that promises the death of one of the only people he's managed to grow close to, it's time for Hawks to prove that he really is the fastest thief out there. Because if he's too slow this time, he risks losing more than just his freedom.
