Light World
Light World, a place out of time, a jigsaw of pieces from different puzzles. The setting is mostly the lands found in Zelda and Super Mario (along with some material from Necroscope, Dune, Wizardry, and several other fandoms), written with the gritty real-world ugliness of a Dungeons & Dragons world.

When worlds collide, however, things have a funny way of throwing... curves at our heroes.

Summary
Sometimes we want a conlang (constructed language) in our fic (or even without a fic). They abound in the wild — Star Trek's Klingon has an essentially functional vocabulary, Tolkien put in a lot of work on Elvish Quenya and other languages of Middle Earth, and many others exist in one state of completeness or another.
So, how do you go about making one for yourself? This takes you through the steps alongside resource links; where you start building one is up to you, but this provides a good grounding in some of the basics at least. It also goes through those steps as it progresses, building up the lelɹli conlang as we go. The sounds and written form, the vocabulary and grammar, and even dialects, though each section's associated linked resources are probably of more interest to most (except perhaps my readers).
NB: there's a metric shit-ton of IPA in here, for which I apologize beforehand should you read this with a TTS screen reader (or, I imagine, a braille reader) that's not majorly buffed.

The world was over. What do you do when that happens, and you find yourself on a deserted tropical island? Your prospects are bleak — no matter how pleasant the surroundings — when it all boils down to a universal variant of thermodynamics and poker: you can't go home, you can't start again, and you're functionally immortal.
Prior military life had prepared Sonic for just about everything. It hadn't prepared him for nothing, and there was a lot of nothing in this quiet place. At least until a Deku Scrub came into his life and forced him to face the world again — to face himself again.
His nemesis was still out there, somewhere. It could only be a matter of time before this world, too, would meet its end.
