Summary
Three years after the victory in London, Shepard wasn't exactly enjoying his role as a hero. Ever since the destruction of the Reapers, he had been kept as a prisoner. An old friend busted him out of the facility, taken him by surprise, when he was sent on a mission again. Driven by his will to see his beloved one again, he travels back to Earth. Once again, it’s up to Shepard to protect the galaxy and warn them about a coming threat. But once he returned to society after the longtime of isolation, only he could think of was Kaidan. Caught between desire and duty, Shepard wasn’t sure, if he could make the right decision.

Summary
Believing that they would never survive the fight against Saren, Kaidan Alenko propositioned Commander Shepard before the final battle as a last request. And after their survival, Shepard's death, and the commander's dealings with Cerberus, Kaidan never grew to trust the man again; refusing to rejoin the Normandy's crew. Now that the war is over, Kaidan has been put in charge of Shepard's recovery - a request from the man himself, and is forced to confront what was, and what could have been, three years ago.

Summary
Another sleepless night had Shepard pull a bottle and a glass, reading over reports, pretending that he had to do this right now. On an odd hunch he went into his own medical records, seeing that he had been treated today for the injuries that the Brute had caused. And then there had been the seizure. Remarkably little was said about this, only that Chackwas thought it was brought on by stress, and recommended rest. He searched further back and found nothing, as in nothing. No minor injuries, nothing at all. He remembered that he had been injured on Mars, he remembered that the cyborg had hit him in the shoulder with a bullet. Strange images flashed before his eyes, like a hidden message in a tape, it made no sense, but still it made perfect sense. If only he could capture it and remember it. He looked down at his medical records. There was no mentioning of a bullet anywhere. It was like he had been the only one to escape Mars unscratched, which he knew not to be true.
