Summary
"My friend Shauna is getting married and I was hoping you'd be…"
"Your plus one?"
"No— well, yes but I was hoping for something more," Misty says meaningfully, like Nat's supposed to get what the fuck that means.
"More what?" she asks before taking another bite.
She doesn't care if Misty is using her as a practice date anymore, she can wine and dine her all she fucking wants if she's this good of a cook.
"Would you be willing to pretend to be my girlfriend?"
Or: Nat agrees to attend a wedding as Misty’s fake girlfriend. It might be a good time if all the crash survivors weren’t so weird and ominous.

Summary
"Seriously Misty. It's fine. Or sleep on the floor. I really don't give a shit."
"Sorry I just don't want to.." Misty trails off, her voice quiet.
She doesn't know what Misty doesn't want to do and she quite frankly doesn't care.
Nat sighs, "You standing there just staring at me makes me feel weirder than anything else you could possibly fucking do."
Or: Some of the times that Misty and Natalie share a bed in their many, many years knowing each

Summary
She runs until she finally finds what she's looking for….
Only to freeze in her tracks at what she sees.
Natalie is standing in a small clearing. Below her, a buck lies seemingly dead at her feet, unmoving. With a clear bloody gash at the base of its neck.
But the strangest thing about the scene is Nat's mouth, which is clearly stained with dripping blood, her eyes somehow appearing darker than normal.
For once, Misty is momentarily speechless.
Misty has been keeping track of Nat in the years after graduating high school. She starts noticing that something is amiss.

Summary
“Nat, oh my gosh, we have to get you out of here.” Misty tries to tug her to her feet, but Nat’s too heavy for Misty to do it on her own.
Nat’s gaze drifts from Misty’s face to look around, first at the girls crumpled on the ground around them, and then at the throbbing hands in her lap, covered in mud and blood. “What… What happened?” Nat is finally able to spit out, voice pitched and eyes widening. “Are, are they… Did I…”
“Shhh, shh, they’re okay,” Misty promises, just as one of the girls groans and another cries, proving her words true. “But we have to go, okay?”

Summary
For a moment, they just stare at each other. It's the first time they've seen each other in nearly a decade, and Misty looks a mess. Her eyes are unfocused, cheeks flushed an unnatural pink like she'd been out in a blizzard even as sweat sticks her hair to her forehead.
"Natalie?" she breathes, except it comes out as more of a hoarse mucus-muffled rasp. She tries to smile wide, but is cut off by a coughing fit. Still, even as her body shakes, her eyes never leave Nat's. "You came back. I knew you'd come back," she says, giggling in delirium and flopping back onto the bed.
