He can't quite remember if it felt the same back then — bone-chilling, deafening and hopeless.
"Charles."
His head snaps up with a full body flinch and Charles suddenly feels like somebody dumped a bucket of cold water over him. Pierre has his head half turned back to him, the red in his eye burning brighter than the sun, one of his fangs catching on his lip with a snarl. He's still more human than wolf, undoubtedly holding back on behalf of Charles' wounded psyche.
"Close," Pierre grits out, accentuating every word with a shove forward, dodging a bite at his neck. "Your eyes."
