At 3 a.m., Sasuke answers a call he knows he shouldn’t.
Naruto is crying on the other end, and just like that, every wall Sasuke built to move on begins to fall apart. They were supposed to try—that was the promise. A year apart, other people, proof that what they had was real.
Sasuke tried. He really did.
But Sakura is asleep in his bed, and all he can think is that it should be Naruto instead.
