“I couldn’t sleep.” Alex murmurs, an unnecessary apology in her voice.
“I know.” Maggie drops a kiss to Alex’s shoulder, willing her own warmth to seep into the body in her arms. “Why didn’t you wake me?”
“You’re exhausted, Mags. You deserve to rest.”
