Welcome to the AO3 collection for VHope Week 2018!

Here are the themes for each day and some AU ideas to get you going:

Jan. 29th - Youth (childhood AU, high school AU, college AU)
Jan. 30th - Celebrity (non AU, actor/idol/model AU, social media AU)
Jan. 31st - Historical (royalty AU, joseon AU, mythology AU)
Feb. 1st - Profession (office AU, chaebol AU, mafia AU)
Feb. 2nd - Fantasy/Supernatural (abo/vampire AU, hybrid AU, fae AU)
Feb. 3rd - Holidays (Valentine's Day, Christmas, Halloween)
Feb. 4th - Free Day

Q. What is VHope Week?
A: VHope Week is a fan-designated week designed to celebrate VHope, the best combination!

Q. So, how can I be a part of VHope Week?
A. People who wish to participate can do so by posting fan content (ex. fan fiction, fan art, fan-made videos, gifs/edits etc.) pertaining to the theme for each day on their preferred platform. Currently, however, promotion and compilation of these works by our admin team is supported only on Twitter (for all types of fan-made content) and AO3 (only fan fiction).

In order to participate on twitter, simply post your work (such as fanart) or a link to your work (such as video or fic URL) and be sure to add the official hashtag #VHOPEWeek2018 followed by the specific hashtag for that day (ex. #VHDay1).

In order to participate on AO3, please make sure to join the parent collection AND if applicable, the subcollections (one for each day of the week) that you are writing/would like to write for! After you have joined the collection(s), simply submit your work to the appropriate subcollection (or parent collection for non-theme related works) for approval and posting. You can do this two ways: a) by clicking on the "Post to Collection" button under the title on the right hand side of the collection page; or b) by specifying the collection's name* (see below for list of names) under the "Post to Collections/Challenges" option when you go to post a new work.

In order for your work to reach the maximum number of eyes it can, however, we would recommend posting it on both AO3 and Twitter! If you need more information or have any questions regarding the AO3 submission process, feel free to message us here!

Q. Do I have to write one of the AUs or ideas listed after each theme? What does Free Day mean?
A: The AUs/ideas listed after each theme are mere suggestions! You do not necessarily have to write something related to them as long as your story relates to the theme of the day. Free Day is exactly what it sounds like! You can write about any AU and any idea/prompt that you wish to write about; anything and everything goes.

Q. So, when exactly does the day begin and end for each theme?
A: Due to timezone differences, each day of VHope Week will be following the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT/UTC 0). You can check what time VHope Week Day 1 will being for you here!

The following FAQ pertain specifically to fan fiction, for inquiries about other modes of fan content, please message us on twitter!

Q. Is English the only language I can submit stories in?
A: No, absolutely not! You can submit stories in the language of your choice for the AO3 collection. For Twitter, just be sure to add in brackets before the title the language it's in. For example, for a story written in Spanish and titled "Reverie", you can write: [ESP] Reverie, for a story written in French and titled "Reverie", you can write [FR] Reverie. Indicating the language is not a necessity for stories written in English.

Q. Am I allowed to write smut, porn without plot, or stories about sensitive content?
A: Yes, absolutely. You can write about whatever you'd like, just be sure to tag everything properly. Be especially sure to tag things such as rape/non-con or dub-con, abuse (of any kind), and sexual content (implied or otherwise).

Q. Is there a minimum word count for the stories?
A: No. They can be as short (or as long!) as you want.

Q. If I don't finish my story in time for the day of its theme, can I still post it? Or if I have an old fic that related to the day's theme, can I share it on Twitter?
A: Yes, to both of those situations. If your story for say the Celebrity theme isn't finished by the end of Day 2, you can still post it any time during the week or after the week is over. We will still promote it on Twitter and add it to the AO3 collection, it just won't be part of the hype of that day! In addition, if you have an old story that's related to the Celebrity theme, you can submit it to this collection and post a link to it on Twitter, and we'll promote it for you.

Here are a few rules and guidelines to keep in mind when posting:

1. VHope needs to be the main ship in your work. Side pairings are okay as are OT3 pairings, as long as the main focus is one VHope.

2. Please do not mention/use/tag other ships involving Taehyung and Hoseok (with the exception of OT3s)! Not even for past relationships (ex. if there's past Seokjin/Hoseok, do not tag them!)

3. Make sure to tag and rate everything properly. Smut, trigger warnings, any sensitive topics should all be tagged! If you're unsure of what tags you should be using or if you should be using any at all, please contact us here.

4. Do not repost or claim someone else's work as your own. Plagiarism will not be tolerated!

5. When posting on Twitter, make sure to use the official hashtag #VHOPEWeek2018 and the specific day hashtag as well (ex. VHDay4).

6. Just to prevent any surprises, please tag top/bottom for any stories which include smut.
