“Oh,” Felix said, and felt a surge of affection go through him again. “Don’t mention it. I mean, any one of us would have wanted to help.”
“I know. But I’m glad it was you.”
Felix smiled, and said nothing of the way his heart felt as if it had both broken apart and pieced itself back together in the span of a single evening. Some kind of contradiction.
