Summary
Neuvillette looks to his left to see a human.
A human, who is decorated in iron chains, more than Neuvillette’s ever seen on any faeling or creature of subjugation in his life. They are of fine make, yes, and are adorned with ruby and speckles of lapis lazuli, but they are still chains. Shackles, to dampen magic and bind the wearer to the one who holds the key.
He is just a human, with rounded ears and eyes as clear as a glacier’s lake, who meets his eyes as Neuvillette takes him in. Mortal to a fault, and yet he is not afraid.
After a lifetime of servitude to the glacial queen that holds rule over Fontaine, Neuvillette meets the human that will change the trajectory of his world forever.

Summary
Neuvillette might as well be a man from another planet, he doesn’t notice the things that others would find glaringly obvious—like the man standing next to him at the bar top as they wait for their drinks.
He remains poised and chatters back as expected because at the end of the day, his job has conditioned him to at least pretend to function normally in society. There’s only one problem:
Neuvillette has no idea that this man is flirting with him.
Wriothesley has to rescue Neuvillette from untoward flirting.

Wriothesley and Neuvillette are opposing NASCAR racers with a rather strange track record of wins and losses: from the looks of it, Wriothesley always wins unless he’s facing off against Neuvillette and Neuvillette always loses unless he’s facing off against Wriothesley. Tired of the pattern, Wriothesley decides to press his rival into revealing his secrets; instead, the man reveals... something else entirely.
Alas, using dirty tactics does not mean Wriothesley will let him win with a walkover again. Hell. No.

Summary
Wriothesley laughs, this time not hiding it. “Of course, not. I’m stupidly happy, Neuvillette. I love you. You love me. This, by all accounts, should’ve been a nightmare, considering how we met. Instead, we fell in deeply, we’re married, and we’re just…” He waves vaguely. “Maybe the universe thought we deserved something. Deserved each other.”
It’s a nice thought, a wonderful thought—and, truth be told, Neuvillette has considered such a thing, because when it came to Wriothesley, he made many, many ill-advised decisions that he normally would not have. But there was a feeling, and inkling; whatever this was in the beginning, was something not to be ignored.
Wriothesley asks if Neuvillette believes in soulmates.
