The voice filters through George’s subconscious, tugs at the threads of his state of dreaming. He shifts, pushes his cheek into soft comfort and silk. It’s cool on his skin.
“George.” That voice again. “Honey, wake up.”

Summary
George was well aware of the rumours from the villagers and how they were big lies. There was always some kind of unknown monster (besides the usual zombie or skeleton) that could sneak up on you on every corner.
On the seas, there were the Guardians. In other dimensions, there were the Ghasts and a Dragon. Underground there was a beast that fed off souls which kept its heart beating.

“Hey,” Dream says, rushing over. “Hey, hey, baby, what’s up, huh?” He settles onto the bed in front of George, eyes widened and making him look like a puppy. He takes George’s hands into his own and kisses them.“Talk to me, sweetheart.”
“M-my—the—my chain, Dream,” George says, pulling a hand from Dream’s hold to wipe at his eyes. “It’s—fuck—”
“We couldn’t find his chain, dude,” Sapnap says. He’s hovering by the doorway. “Looked everywhere.”
[Or, George loses his chain and, simultaneously, his mind.]

Summary
Listen. Listen. George doesn’t have a type. He’s been asked about it constantly, stupidly invasive comments he doesn’t bother deleting because that would be giving them attention, and they all assume he likes women anyway, but he doesn’t.
But if he did. Well, tall blond and gorgeous is universal, really. Big golden eyes, a slightly lopsided smile, curly hair poking out from under a cat-eared beanie. He’s maybe the most beautiful man George has ever seen.
“Hi!” he greets, and of course his voice is equally as wonderful, sweet as honey. “You wanted to see the cats?”
“Um,” George says eloquently. He’d like to see a lot more than cats right now, but that’s not exactly an appropriate thought to be having about a man he’s just met. “Yeah. That’s why I’m here. For the cats.”
or, george gets a bit more than he bargained for when he goes looking for a kitten to fill his lonely life

Summary
“Julia’s sister is getting married on Friday.” Dream briefly tried to remember who Julia was before the image of his sister’s fiance flashed onto the surface of his eyes. “We fly out tomorrow, and our nanny just canceled on us. Can you watch Charlie?”
Charlie, being his nephew. Like, a year and a half or so; a cute kid from the pictures his mother sent him sometimes. Dream had met him once, when he was still tiny and did nothing but sleep and cry. He probably, like, was a little wild now. Probably put things in his mouth. Dream thought, momentarily, of all of the tiny, swallowable objects littering their home. "Like, here?"
"No, you can come here. Bring George, too; I don't care. I just don't want to have to book another flight."
