In truth, Erica was sure that they were equally curious about each other. She was certainly curious about the man who had mastered Blue Frame, and despite his measured tone, Gai's questioned were delightfully thorough. They had a common interest, and certainly they could work together, for a price.
It wouldn't just be money, though. Erica had offered a substantial payment for Gai's skill. And in return, Gai was offering more than she'd imagined.
He'd already figured her out, as well, though it was for the best. Not needing to speak aloud would make it so much easier.
And safer.
