Summary
Perhaps it was because Emmet almost expected to get shut down before his inquiry could get resolution that his words were stalled as he said, "How… how does one… make a card… talk."
The game master did not answer. From out of the void that shadowed the figure came a hand with uneven nails and damaged cuticles. It tapped against the hardwood table, patient but demanding. The match could not start, until Emmet made a play.
Or; when Ingo went missing, Emmet naturally went running after him. But never in a million years did he think that his search would lead him to a mysterious cabin in the woods where his only hope of surviving and maybe finding some answer is to play a card game.
The stakes? His soul.
