The commander’s stony facade softened as he explained it. “I see.” She blew some air though her lips, tilting her head. “Well, that would require the acquisition of the seeds themselves. And a fair bit of travel, of course. We’d have to go back to Hoelbrak, back to the foothills… The Grove, first. Are you up for that?”
“Well,” he looked up to meet her eyes, stern and icy blue. They’d always reminded him of corrupted ice, the intensity of them. “If you’d allow me to invade your memory like that—if it meant I could know her like you did…”
