Now that he was out of the loop, eating was mandatory.
A lot of things were mandatory now, like finding time to actually fall asleep, or shaving, or showering and brushing his teeth and all that fucking hygiene self care shit that didn’t matter when his body didn’t remember everything he’d done to it.
If all the scars Nyles had accumulated over all his loops were real, he’d be covered in them.

Summary
When Nyles woke up in the morning, Sarah was gone.
He panicked for half a second before he took in the room he was in. He wasn’t back with Misty. It was November eleventh.
Sarah’s mom told him that she had left earlier that morning. “She’s halfway to Texas now, uh--Nyles, was it?” she said.
She left without him.
He was struck with so much emotion that he almost missed the fact that someone had finally learned his name.

Summary
It had been hard to feel human in the loop.
It was like he was some sort of alien, watching everyone else do normal human things like move on to tomorrow while he was stuck in an endless today. The other wedding goers raised a toast to the future of Tala and Abe, so confident there would be one. And they were happy. Nyles had watched over them blankly, wishing he were one of them.
Because humans didn’t come back after they died. Humans weren’t supposed to do the things he did, weren’t supposed to bounce back like cartoon characters, were supposed to move on.
Not Nyles.
