Tallulah is picking idly at the red petals of a poppy and watching Chyanne swing his glittering sword around like a dance. The monster is nearby. She asks if he can see it.
"What does it look like?" he asks.

Summary
From moment one, Tallulah had always had nightmares. Long before she knew what the word had even meant and she'd finally been taken in by her rightful father. Hidden away in that attic, shivering in on herself and oh so tired she'd spent a good majority of her time asleep trying to conserve energy, and in that time Tallulah had dreamed. A scant few of those dreams had been good ones, sweet and gentle like the first real breaths of spring. But they were the minority. The larger portion of her dreams were sharpened edges and fractured memories that didn't belong to her. Terrors that shouldn't have been hers to begin with but what slunk along until they finally found someone they could dig their teeth into.
Even with all of those nightmares, before she'd been able to brush them off easily.
Probably because they'd never really been hers to begin with. This time, this time was different though.
Or, after the 'nightmare' about her and Chayanne dying, Tallulah starts to realize weird things keep happening around her.

The darkness let up for a second, and he could see the three of them again.
In the moment of sight, he could see a pair of pale white eyes. They made his blood run cold.
He ran towards his daughter. His body cried at every impact.
“TALLULAH.”

He made it very clear in the beginning that he didn't even want a kid and that he wouldn't be present a lot. But why does it still hurt even though she has known it from the start?!
