Summary
It was warm and slippery. But not with sweat, instead it was slick with blood. A simple glance sideways confirmed it - her hand was now a cherry red as well, and Kai’s trousers were slowly starting to stain, blood oozing out from a wound somewhere near his stomach. There was grim determination on Kai’s face, but also so much pain. The agony you’d seen on a statue in church, one where the poet was determined to capture absolute misery.

In a mission gone wrong, Irene panics when she sees Kai is injured. A quick thinking, too vague use of The Language doesn't make it better; and Irene is left to battle off enemies and deal with an injured Kai.
Or~ While being pursued by werewolves, Irene has the wrong choice of words and ends up injuring her lover. She barely deals with it.
