Returning and settling down, Rooney finally asks, “What happened?” She sits down next to Stephanie and moves her arm around her shoulders, welcoming a hug but waiting for Stephanie to accept the hug. Stephanie lays her head onto her girlfriend’s shoulder, leaning into Rooney’s side.
“I was going on a run when some guy ran by and knocked into me. I tried to catch myself and landed weirdly on my ankle. And as you could probably tell, I fell down.” Her tone was exasperated but mostly exhausted. “Your house was closer than mine, so I came here. Sorry, if I’m interrupting anything.”
