This isn't the first time everything Cordell thought he knew has fallen apart just when he started to believe he could be okay, but discovering the betrayal of his old mentor is a knife in his back like he hasn't faced before. And his knowledge places his family in danger, even if he succeeds in getting Stan behind bars. Keeping the people he loves safe by removing himself from the equation is an easy choice to make.
