Hi all, I'm Katherine! I started writing fanfic when I was twelve and obsessed with Twilight, so that's why a lot of my fics are revamped Twilight fics from 2016. I used to be exclusively on Fanfiction.net, here, but I made my way over here a few years ago! I'm also on Tumblr with the same username, here

To summarize, someone figured out that Chat GPT is probably using fanfic sites for training data. This seems harmless, but the problem is that, while Chat GPT is free now, other GPT-based programs aren't, so private companies are making money off of work that fanfic writers have done for free. Additionally, there's a whole intellectual property argument that comes up commonly in the AI art debate.AO3 has a setting that only allows registered users to view your works, which can protect your works from being used as training data. I'm not turning on that setting yet, but I probably will in the future, especially when I post Not Dead Yet, my 63k TwilightxTeen Wolf crossover that I've been working on for over two years. I am so so so morally opposed to the idea of others making money off of my work that there is absolutely no way that I will post 63k of my blood, sweat, and tears without making sure that no one can steal it without crediting me.
