Hey. My sister made the comment that my pseud is not very nice towards little people. I've never meant any offense, honestly. From the research I have done on British culture, the people in the UK are highly polite. Not so much, in America. I am sure that this is news for most people.
Yes, that was sarcasm.
I am 4'8 and 92 pounds. In other words, I am small as shit. I can't even tell you how many times people have come up to me and said, "Hey, you could be a midget! How tall are you, anyway?" They might has well have added "freak" on the end of the sentence.
When being described by others, guess which defining factor is the first to be mentioned? Oh, no - not my scintillating personality, or the fact that I like raising orchids. Not even the fact that I am one cat short of being a "crazy cat lady". Nope, nothing like that. I'm sure that you can guess what I'm getting at. As a result, it's the first thing I think about when describing myself.
"Well, I'm really short and wear glasses..."
Anyway, so when I had to come up with a pseud, "Couldbeamidget" just popped into my head. It's the first thing people notice upon seeing me, and despite being middle-aged and QUITE AWARE of my stature, thank you, still have to endure the phrase "Wow, you're really short! How tall are you?" at least once every month. Dull.
So, long story short (seriously, no pun intended) that is how I came to be Couldbe. It seems a little late in the game to change it now. Again, no offense meant.
