He hadn’t expected to have such a visceral reaction to Wei WuXian defending him like that. He hadn’t expected to like view of Wei WuXian standing over him, powerful and strong and dangerous.

Summary
It’s in the dawning years after Jin Guangyao’s death that Wei Wuxian learns what it’s like to live and love without a second thought.
When it becomes too cold for the flowers to bloom, Wei Wuxian places paper flowers in Lan Wangji’s hair. He has all the time in the world now, to do whatever, to be wherever, and he spends his days at the Cloud Recesses, where the winter is brilliant white like the moon, and he cuts paper flowers to put in the Chief Cultivator’s hair. He draws just a little bit of something in the folds of the paper, just enough to make them flutter where there is no wind, and it makes A-Yuan giggle when he sees them, dozens of paper flowers moving like butterflies in the river of Lan Wangji’s hair.
