A bit about me:
After a long hiatus, I've returned to the creative writing scene in order to scratch the itch that my mind has always wandered back to. We'll see how things pan out. Regardless, I'm a lover of both fantasy and science fiction, with the latter holding a special place in my heart. What to expect in my writing:
Expect longer setups, character focus, worldbuilding, and if it furthers the plot — promiscuous, lewd activities. My writing approach:
In an ever increasing, overly sensitive world, I strive to break that mold—with the narrative that I wish to tell, and complex set of characters that ultimately propel it forward. Let's be honest here, no one likes an overly simplified, cookie-cutter, and dare I say 'safe' story. As readers, we want characters that WE can relate to, and ultimately aspire to be in the real world, even if said narrative takes place in some far off kingdom. That means our imperfect characters should and will fail at some point along their journey. After all, it is the underline odyssey that makes storytelling worthwhile in the first place. With that said, here are the central pillars that I, as a writer, will strive to follow with each and every story told:
1) Plot and complex characters above all else — there are enough Mary Sues running amok these days.
2) No one is safe — yes, we all like happy endings, but some of our most beloved characters don't make it to the final curtain call.
3) Personal politics do NOT have a place in good storytelling — leave projection to others.
4) Humility, humility, humility — no one is above anyone else when it comes to the world of creative writing; constructive criticism is always welcomed!
