Bio
Hi! Just a few brief notes regarding what I consider important information for my readers. (You’re all so lovely by the way, thank you so much!)
I just want to reiterate, as always, to be respectful. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about myself as a fanfic author, and I think it’s important to establish the distinction between fiction and reality. When I am writing (particularly speaking about One Direction, as that’s my main fandom) I always want to make sure that my readers know this:
My writing is not reflective on the boys (or anyone associated) as real people. I cannot say what they would do or how they would act in any situation, and the things they happen to do in my stories are not associated with any of my personal opinions on the boys as people.
Now, I am a Larry and a Ziam, but I happen to enjoy writing other pairings because to me, these are just characters. I would never want to fetishise nor insult anyone I happen to write about, which is why I am putting so much emphasis on fictional character vs real life person. In fact, it’s debatable that I’m writing about them at all. It’s more like taking the personas of Liam, Zayn, Niall, Harry and Louis and treating them as a recognisable character base to tell an intriguing story.
All this being said, I write mainly for entertainment, and if any of it happens to offend you, or you find it insulting to the boys and/or associates, I will happily take it down or revise it. I understand that fanfiction is an intensely complicated piece of fan culture, but I just want everyone to be respectful and have a good time. With that in mind, please do not send any of my works to the boys or anyone they know. Enjoy it for what it is- simple entertainment without harmful intent.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for listening to my moral crisis. I really do appreciate it. Happy reading, and I’ll see you soon.
All the love,
J
